Wassa
I said a while ago that I would do a tutorial for my camo vehicles. I've decided to go with 2 minor colour shapes (black and yellow), on a background of 2 different shades of green to give the camo scheme below. Edit these to suit your colour scheme. Give everything a basecoat of Chaos Black: http://i.imgur.com/ycr7LZYl.jpg Recoat it in Abaddon Black as they're slightly different and if you need touch ups later then they'll be the same shade of black: http://i.imgur.com/a9OjPicl.jpg Decide what stencils you want to use. I used Anarchy Models Mini Tiger Stripe, but you can even use masking tape cut to shape. http://i.imgur.com/6DgmwKBl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jju7hf5l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IfW1CdNl.jpg Once the stencils are applied, spray everything Ogryn Camo, this may take a few coats due to the dark black underneath: http://i.imgur.com/bcjuphul.jpg Repeat Stencils on top of the Ogryn Camo once dry: http://i.imgur.com/iLSkhPrl.jpg Spray Elysian Green: http://i.imgur.com/3ZD2cvTl.jpg Use bigger stencils than before for the next step, I believe these were the non Mini ones from AA. http://i.imgur.com/UGtjiPql.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CaxxmFNl.jpg Spray Caliban Green: http://i.imgur.com/AWHaRZcl.jpg Carefully peel it off when dry to reveal your awesome camo pattern: http://i.imgur.com/Zxs8VEul.jpg It should be camo, but still appears "flat": http://i.imgur.com/wGOZZ32l.jpg If you wish you could tidy up the edges of any outlines that are fuzzy due to the stencil not being completely flat while spraying, but I didn't bother. Use Coelia Greenshade with a small base brush to shade the recesses: http://i.imgur.com/wlaLHBGl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qbrT9Atl.jpg Drybrush Underhive Aash over the whole model: http://i.imgur.com/KuXTBvEl.jpg If you're keen you could use a layer brush and do a different highlight for each colour.... but I'm not! Paint details and add transfers: http://i.imgur.com/H97yDOhl.jpg I forgot to take pictures of the tracks, but I think they are just Dryad Bark, all over wash of nuln oil, heavy drybrush with Gorthor Brown, and a gentle drybrush of Zandri Dust. Wassa
Well I got distracted by my Blood Angels :), and it turns out I left some of the Caliban Green in the airbrush for a few months so couldn't do any for a while :(. These were done with a cheapy £30 airbrush and compressor set, but just bought myself new one for xmas so I'm looking forward to getting back to painting my vehicles :).
