Hey yall.  Thought I would share my Feudal Guard army I am working on.  Most parts are from GW, but most of the heads are from MadRobot and some parts are from Anvil Industries.  I used an airbrush to speed thru it a bit (though I wouldn't exactly call it speed painting).  The colors look slightly more bright/saturated than they do in person, but Im not good with photo taking or editing.

Also since I plan to use them in imperial soup here is an NMM custodes I took forever painting:

Here is a newly finished HWT.  The guns and gunners are magnetized:

UPDATE:
Here is an update of my tanks.  The more beat up tanks are fully magnetized.  Additionally sponsors can be attached as there is a heavy magnet under their sides.

Here are some finished feudal sergeants (though they could double as company commanders).  The laspistol is magnetized and so are the chainswords on the 2 guys backs.)

UPDATE:
Though this is a primary AM/IG army, I am doing a bit of soup (hence the Custodes), so I decided to show these guys part of the same army.  Sorry to pollute it with a slight bit of non-pure IG.  It took way too much time getting the LEDs in place.

UPDATE:

Update:
The Imperial Knight is complete:

Also, I did a few more guardsmen, so here is my army so far (sorry I am not: great at taking large army photos, its harder than one mini at a time)

My Feudal Guard

Update:
Here is a small squad of completed Feudal Scions for my Feudal Guardsmen. The sergeant has fully magnetized arms.

Your feudal guardsman and their Leman Russ look AWESOME. Do the fully enclosed helmets identify the wearers as veterans, Tempestus Scions, or other elites?

Thanks! All these are just reg infantry, but yes, the sallet/closed helm (or classic no helm) indicate veterancy for fluff's sake, with a wider varient which will be used on my scions and heavy weapons teams.

Took me a while to find medievalish looking helm bits that are the right size and quality since bretonians were discontinued and overpriced on eBay. I'm currently looking to make them look even more feudal tho.

Great bits in use, gives them a nice appearance topped off with an excellent paint job - the blue really shines :tu: Keep us updated on your progress, what's next on the list?

Tons of stuff. Besides more guard, a small Tempestus scion squad and heavy weapons teams are next in line.

Amazing work Dranu

How'd you manage to get his hands holding the pistol twin handed?

What else can we expect from this force?

What colours are you using for it they look great?

It's officer robed hands from anvil industry. His sword on his back and his pistol are magnetized so I can switch out the load too. I am working on 3 more sergeant s in a similar style.

I plan to eventually have a whole brigade. I also plan on building an imperial knight with it too in their theme and to look for medieval bits and trinkets. Sister of Battle bits maybe?

The colors seem slightly more saturated than in person. They are Warcolours blue 1-5 thru an airbrush and edge highlight, with a heavy emphasis on 3 and the darkest one (5 I think or maybe it's 4). It's an interesting dark blue. GW's Stegadon Green is very similar to that dark blue. I hate Warcolours for doing more than edge highlighting with a brush (it streaks), but they're good with an airbrush.

Update:

Finished that HWT finally.  The guns are magnetized and the gunner so they can be switched.

Woah, whenever I'm happy with whatever I've painted, my morale is crushed by the excellence of others! Very nice work though! I love how the water flows out of the base on that HWT.

I know this is super delayed but I just wanted to pop in and say excellent work here. I really love the color scheme. The shading is really well done too.

Also, would you mind giving us some tips or a quick tutorial on how you did the marble on your hwt base? I'm putting off a couple of projects because I don't feel great about painting a marble effect so it would be super helpful. Whatever you're doing looks amazing.

And if you've gotten around to doing anymore painting, please share. This is great stuff.

Of course.  Its almost identical to this guys stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLVE1q0fGDA&t=463s.

Basically:

1.) Base coat the color you want to be in the lines of the marble effect.

2.) Let it dry (VERY IMPORTANT).

3.) Cover the area with one or a combination of the following: washed dryer sheet pulled and torn, the stretchy type of baby wipes pulled and torn, steel wool.  Make sure its is firm and as tightly touching the surface as possible.  Let a bit of the undercoat show through in parts.

4.) Airbrush a noticeable but light coat what you want the main color to be over the steel wool, dryer sheet, etc.

5.) Let it dry.

6.) remove the steel wool, etc.

7.) Varnish with gloss or at least satin (I notice the coat can rub off easily, plus gloss makes it look more like nice marble)

8.) add in a higher contrast line with a thin brush (of whatever color the streaks are) to one or two of the streaks to really bring them out.

I also finished another squad.  Currently Im working on 5 scions and an Imperial knight (all with the same theme).

Fine works. Do your sergeants wear robes as a sign of rank, or will all your guardsmen wear robes like medieval monks?

Just sergeants and commanders.  The idea is as sign religious vows they can take after a certain amount of veterancy.  They take the idea that their faith in the Emperor is their armor quite literally, and considering all the guardsmen around them always seem to die before they do encourages it lol (really that's just an excuse for the aesthetic :D).
