Liquid greenstuff alternatives?

Is there anything like liquid greenstuff to use for gap filling? I am just tired of fighting with the stuff when it gets crumbly and doesn't "flow" as easy as new. Using a sculpting tool that i dip in water helps somewhat, but its still annoying. Anything similar I could be using instead?

My personal favorite has always been a small amount of miliput mixed into enough water until it gets almost paste-like. I push that stuff into the gaps and then carefully scrape the excess off with a spoon or similar.

Seconding this. Milliput is really good for gap-filling.

I have an old bottle of Tamiya Plastic Cement that I dumped bits of cut up GW sprue into, let it melt over a felt days, then I brush that into any gaps with an old brush and file down if needed.

I find it pretty good, dries in a few minutes, and you can actually build it up to fill larger gaps or holes too. It stinks, but it works well for me.

Jolemai: cut off a chunk and try rejuvenate with acrylic thinner, if successful then do the whole pot. If not then cut off anothe chunk and try to rejuvenat that one with IPA or white spritis, if it doesn't work, then toss the pot and......*drumroll*........buy a pack of milliput and a bottle of IPA!

That's a great trick for filling small gaps, I'll be using it as soon as I can get some - what is milliput like in general? I'm after something to help me fill on vehicles too (e.g. venerable Rhino kits) so if it could pull double duty as it were that would be great

It also fills bigger gaps. It's really good, dries rock-hard and is sandable (unlike Greenstuff which, while able to be sanded, will ruin whatever you're using to sand the seam down). I'm currently in the process of using it to fill in visible seam-lines on my Predators and Vindicators

I'm in the UK, so is that a bottle of session IPA, normal IPA, a double/triple/quadruple IPA, New England IPA, West/East Coast IPA, or a Milkshake IPA?

Hhahaha, yes good question! I lived in Aberdeen for three years and got fond of Deuchars IPA!

I've just bought this- Tamiya Putty (White) . It's one tube and its consistency is similar to toothpaste. I've not used it much but seems to be easily sandable. I bought it after watching a painting video for a harlequins starweaver. They used it to fill gaps and, after sanding, couldn't tell it was used.

I use Miliput with alcohol, like shown here:

Wow that's a great video thanks for sharing definitely writing a list of this stuff for Santa

Edit: What type of Alcohol did he say he used? Does rubbing alcohol count? I checked his comments and didn't see a list for his stuff he was using.

He uses methylated spirits (denaturated mixture of ethanol and methanol)  but as I understand in the comments of his he recommends IPA (IsoPropylAlcohol) instead.

Hmmm... I was kind of guessing at first as well, mostly because these designations don't exist in German (at least not on bottles in your average store). Ended up buying cheap all purpose "Brennspiritus" (denatured spirits, I think) and it works fine.

Sorry that I'm late to the thread-- but I would just like to toss out that Vallejo Plastic Putty is also an excellent gap filler if you can find it.  It has a very small applicator that helps getting into small seams and joins.

Mr. Hobby Surfacer, liquid Plastic that can thined down with Mr. Thinner.

Mr. Hobby/Mr. Thinner/Mr. Surfacer are all magnificent products as well like Bung here suggested.

Liquid greenstuff was one of the crappiest products GW has foisted on us when they tried filling metal molds with resin without getting the bubbles out, calling it finecast, and selling it as they had done us a huge favor.  I have NEVER gotten LGS to work correctly and I'm no hobby slouch.

My only complaint with Milliput is how it kinda gets all over the place unless the one I bought was extra crumbly.
