JANUARY SUMMARY

First and foremost, thank you everyone for joining up to the 2020 Hobby Challenge, and I have to say I've really enjoyed the fluff pieces that have been included with vows and completions, well done

2020 is off to a great start with 35 Frater taking up the challenge, and pledging to complete a total of 267 models. Of the 35 Frater, we had 34 Complete their tasks, and 259 models. Excluding last years ETL, this the highest output the challenge has seen, so well done to everyone.

Coming off of a strong finish with the 2019 Favourite, Jolemai's Old Skool Cool Librarian grabs my January Favourite.

Campaign Summary

The Imperial Forces have responded in greater force, and have gained an early Attack / Defensive advantage ( Cheers SufficientAnonymity ), and have managed to complete 185 models for January, with Xenos completing 44 models, and Chaos completing 38 models.

The Imperium's participant numbers have also given them a decent CP advantage too, earning 54CP for this month, more than the Chaos and Xenos Forces combined, with Chaos earning 27CP, and Xenos 19CP.

Even with such a clear advantage, the Imperial Forces will need to stay on top of their game as it's early days for the campaign, and they cannot afford to become complacent.

The Chaos and Xenos Factions are lacking in participants comparatively, and could both do with some more numbers to boost their CP's earned. They will need to be a little more strategic with their points to ensure they maximise their potentials.

Ok this is barley in time but I finished my vow. To finished Van Saar Gangers (Skitarii based) and some Preachers. I even managed to do an extra Preacher to bring my total models up to 5 for the month.



Between these three and the Missionary I did for the Boxing Day Bash I have done four Priestly models (with two more undercoated for when I have the time) for my new Sister of Battle army and I have done no actual sisters yet. Something has gone askew here I think, so for February I do really need to focus on the ladies.

I, Trokair , embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of February pledge to complete at least 5 Sister of Battle, and possibly some other units from the new codex, by month's end.

Picture as I built them in December, as soon as the weather allows I will spray and then go from there. I really do need to get the 5 Sisters done as otherwise I will fail my Facing the Unknown Vow, which would be rather embarrassing.




The Loyalty & Treachery stuff will have to wait for March by the looks of it.

While the three remaining marines of the demi-claw are slowly coming along, it's looking doubtful all 3 will be finished in the next 24 hours unfortunately. My current aim is two of them, and then I'll deal with the third later :)

Time for my February vow. It was originally going to be doing the other half of my bases, but seeing as I did all 99 of them in January, rather than just the 91 originally vowed, it's time to do my ebay rescue Predator. The side sponsons were magnetised, which should make working on it easier, but unfortunately the turret was glued down.

There's always the freeze and lever trick to break superglue bonds; stick it in the freezer for an hour or two which should weaken the bond quite a bit; you should then be able to twist it apart. I've also found biostrip 20 does a good job of weakening superglue when I'm stripping paint.
