Nice work so far everyone!! Going to enter again for Feb, my sister borrowed my camera and it's too late to wake her up. But I've got a primaris Lt with power sword I want to add. I've got the old Ragnar Blackmane model painted from the early 2000s and I wanted to make a primaris Ragnar since there isn't one yet so I made my own, got these cool wolf head shoulder pads in the mail just in time. I'll post some pictures tomorrow when I get the camera back!

 

Edit: I've actually got a couple box sets of Space Wolves I've been building up on the side I may do some more of them this month, start with this one and then work on more when I finish.

Many coats of white later, and the eBay rescue Predator is starting to look a bit more Templar-y.

 

 

Next is touching up the white, then working though all the small details and finally edge highlighting the black. The metalwork is already fully completed (base, wash, layer/chunky highlight, fine highlight).

Edit: I finish his base this time I did the Astrogranite Debri first rather than when the model was all painted lol. But I plan to jump on it soon so I can possibly work towards other pledges.

Tanzer leaned forward at his hololectern, claws steepled over the input terminal. The screen was currently deactivated, allowing him to see Kani the Sentry, heiress to the Naculan dynasty, and daughter of the Phaeron, in her full, imposing glory before him. She was unarmed, her warscythe already stowed in her personal quarters a short distance away, and bore nothing in her hands. 

 

They were currently having an animated discussion on how best they were to proceed, and to what extent further resources needed to be brought in. At that exact moment, however, Tanzer exploded to his feet, a faint whistle building in his subvocalizaton matrix. His eyes glowed more intensely than usual, and a grating voice spat forth from his vocoder. "With. All. Due. Respect. My lady," he growled, "I. Am. The Nemesor. Of this expedition. Must I replay my orders for you, Sentry?"

 

"I know your orders, Admiral, I was there when he spoke to you!"

 

"For a reason I do not currently fathom!"

 

"I am the successor of they dynasty!"

"YOU ARE A CHILD!" Tanzer roared, before audibly and peremptorily sighing, and sitting down once more, head in hand, before looking back up at his honorary niece. "Kani, you are hardly two hundred years of age. Do you know how old your father was when the time came to take command of the dynasty?" Tanzer asked, much of the vitriol gone from his voice.

 

"Younger than he would have liked, as he has told me. And you," she muttered.

 

Ignoring the last remark, Tanzer pressed on. "Your father is trying to train you by sending you here with me. You have received excellent tutelage in many aspects of state from your father and his advisors. But for the training in the art of war? I am not too vain in saying that I am his--and your" he noted pointedly "--best option. I served your father as his nemesor far before he became Phaeron, when he too was only the Heir, and in a time when we were still beings of flesh and blood.

 

"I was old then, and frail. I am older still, but my mind is as sharp as it ever has been." His eyes dimmed briefly in a reflex of a smile. "There are many things left for you to learn, my lady. I am merely trying to make sure you do not have to learn them on the fly."

 

"Yes, Uncle," Kani said, bowing her head in deference. 

 

Tanzer began a tune in his subvocalization matrix, an older Necrontyr song that Tanzer knew Kani liked. "Now then, I think it is best we begin with some exercises on grand strategy. Before that, however," he said, remembering a minor detail in his official order packet, and not the blank cheque he had been given over holocoms, "Your father mentioned something about additional protection for your person?"

 

Kani groaned, barely audible over the music echoing from inside Tanzer's chest. "Quazaka and four of his men are probably onboard the ship somewhere, though how they got here without you knowing I have no idea."

 

Tanzer would have smirked, if he were capable. He knew exactly how they had got onboard, and why they were here, though he'd yet to see them in person. The Phaeron had assigned them to the protection of his daughter, and while she might not have been supposed to know they were there, they would have shown themselves soon enough. There was no harm in letting Kani divine what she already knew, in one fashion or another.

 

He sat back as Kani continued to mutter about a father she perceived to be overbearing that he knew to be caring, and pulled up a simple war simulation to begin training with, once she ran out of steam.

 

I, Daimyo-Phaeron Lenoch, once more take up the banner of the 12 months of hobby challenge, and vow to base 5 Lychguard before the end of February, to the defense of the Xenos faction.

 

I'll have some actual, proper models as the month goes on, and as soon as I base these five chaps.

Vow #1 for Feb completed! I'm pretty proud of it, first time painting a primaris marine and first time doing NMM for gold and think it turned out pretty decently!

 

 

Edit: just debating on using a decal on the shoulderpad or trying my luck at doing triangles for the Blood Claws symbols.

Nothingness stirred.

In the darkness, a puff of gases released under pressure exhaled softly from a matt-black unadorned cylinder half-buried in the ground.

Nothingness stirred again and a section of the cylinder peeled away allowing the wind and the rain into it's interior.

A dark shape, a Nothingness at the centre of a black hole detached itself from the darkness and rose slowly. It took it's time surveying the immediate surrounding area. Even though the state-of-the-art asupexes and mulit-spectrum sensoria has already made their sweeps and proclaimed a 3 click-radius clear of prey-calls and non-prey-calls alive and otherwise, the thing was a patient and careful hunter.

Just looking at it would made soul-things's skin crawl. For those with brighter soul-minds it would be nigh-unbearable.

Nothingness smiled briefly at the thought of being allowed to hunt yet again and with a rarely experienced freedom. With it's Prey-sig clear in it's mind, the hunter moved east disappearing effortlessly into the rocky area. It's most rare gift shrounding it's presence even more surely than it's specialised gear.

After several seconds the cylinder's hide-await auto-routines activated.

And then there was just empty nothingness of the rocks glistening in the rain.

A little free time and some contrast paint later and Vet #2 is essentially finished, I ran out of texture paint so the base will have to wait until I get a chance to resupply.

Onwards to Vet #3 this month!!

The Predator continues to go well. Only two steps to go now, the currently WIP chunky highlight with Eshin Grey, and the fine highlight with Dawnstone.

 

I've also put together a Stalker Bolt Rifle Lieutenant from spare parts in my bits box - he'll get vowed when I post the Predator's completion photos.
