SEPTEMBER SUMMARY

In another solid month, September saw 26 Participants take up the Challenge once again. Together we pledged 259 models, and managed to complete 228 models, with only 3 Frater failing to complete their vows. I'm still surprised every month when we manage to complete over 200 models between us.

September sees the first month for some Gold badges, so lets get to it....

This month, Focslain's eye-catching Necrons have earned my pick, and are September's Favourites.

Campaign Summary

Topping out the Factions for the most models completed, coming in at 96 models, is once again the Xenos. The 1-2 combo of TPS and The_Chaplain's massive output is keeping the Xenos ahead in man-power. Next up is the Imperium, not so far behind with 89 models completed this month, with the Chaos Factions completing a respectable 43 models.

The Imperium's Participant numbers continue to give the Faction a large CP lead, earning 137CP this month. With such a Participant disadvantage, both the Chaos and Xenos Factions each earned less than half the Imperiums total, coming with 66CP for Chaos, and 59CP for Xenos.

~ "Disco" Lemartes and the power fist chap just need touching up and the odd bit of detail. Lemartes has a magnetised pistol which I may do weapon choices for it I can recover my bits box from a Lockdown area

~ The two with chainswords need magnetised weapon options, gluing, details, highlists, painted bases

Ace Debonair, your description of the Hollow Knight hunger plague reminds me of the Spatterjay virus from the books by Neal Asher, especially The Skinner and The Voyage of the Sable Keech. If you are not familiar with it I would suggest going and having a read, it may give you some inspiration.

Llagos_Tyrant, Those are some interesting Dreads, what the story behind the conversions?

Majkhel, where does the missile launcher come from, it seems very ornate. Also where is the sword on your Judicator from?

Grotsmasha, I thought that scheme looked familiar, especially the yellow polluted ground. Is that the Lion in the black box?

For this month I need to focus on finishing Asura for the Iron Gauntlet, and maybe make some progress on the plodding along vow. Lastly I have also vowed some Epic models for The Good, The Bad, The Aldari event, not sure if I will have time to work on them this month or the first half of next month.

First vow for October -

 

I, Givemead, accept the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge and vow to paint a Soulgrinder torso by months end for the glory of the Chaos Faction.

For this month, I vow the following.

 

Grey Knights

 

1. Kaldor Draigo - Repainted. He was my very first figure, but I'm going to welcome him to 2020. I think my painting skills have improved considerably since 10 months ago, so I'll go all out for him. Going to be trying for the favourite award with him.

2. Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight - got some custom 3D parts arriving for him, so he's vowed with the condition he will arrive on time. 

 

Patch-up

 

1. Leviathan Dreadnought - going to eliminate those pesky white spots, and fix some splurges of paint on him. Also vowing the other weaponry he came with to be done. 

2. Strike Squads - I could have painted them much much better (as you saw on the pictures), so I'll fix their splurges as well. 

 

Dark Angels

 

1. If the above two conditions are satisfied, I will vow a single outrider squad in Ravenwing colors.

@Trokair, the launcher is a Spellcrow cast, I think it's called gothic lanucher or something like that. Judiciar has his own blade, only sharpened filed to a point. I also had to cut and re-position the arm to fit the pauldron.

He's nearly done! Still in need of a base, and a few splurges need to be addressed, but here he is so far. Unfortunately the model when I got him was definitely on the lower side of quality, so there only so much I can do to disguise some of the flaws in the manufacturing process.
