And here's the Boxing Day bash models done:

I, Gederas, accept The Boxing Day Challenge and vow to Build, Paint, and Base Gorzag Gitstompa and Nikkit for the honour of the Dark Angels Forum within the 24hrs time limit.

Also Grot, you missed me in the Seriously? category for November.... And a lot of people it seems?

The last section that has names is the black Artificer badge?

The Summary is still a WIP, I don't think I got to Seriously yet :tu:

Had a lot of terrain that needed painting for my Plodding Along vow. Aaaand ... t's now painted and ready to use on my gaming table! Except for the leftover sprues from the Reaver, which I wanted to turn into tank traps. I seem to have thrown them into the trash during a hobby area cleanup. The Kill Team stuff gets a new lease on life as objective markers. And treasure chests are always fun for narrative scenarios.

And done - 6 metamorphs to finish off the year.

metamorphs

It means that, thanks to this Challenge, I've racked up 88 infantry, a ridgerunner and a drop pod over the course of 2020, which I suspect is going to be a painting record for me (last year, for comparison, I painted 34 infantry and 3 tanks, and was pretty pleased with that).

I'm not going to get them all out on a table, but here's how my year looked:

January

brothers

February

command squad

March

squad 3

commander

commissar 1

commissar 2

April

neophytes

more neophytes

May

neophyte specials

aberrants

June

acolytes

tech priest

July

acolytes

August

genestealers

pod2

dark angel

September

ridgerunner A

primus B

October

rock saws

November

acolytes flamers

December

metamorphs

Thanks to Grotsmasha for running the Challenge again this year, and thanks to everyone who chipped in with encouragement - I've really enjoyed feeling like I'm painting along with people, even when it's just me :)

Impressive work rogue! Well done.

I've just started on my last vow, now the dust has settled a bit on the house move. Should get it in before the deadline.

I'm now going to look and see how I've done this year too!

Edit- 101 if I include the solitaire.

7 dreads, 20 vehicles, 2 weapons platforms & 72 infantry

121 last year with 4 knights in that! I blame a second child and diamonds for the reduced rate!

After first vowing my Dark Apostle in June I have now finished painting him!

RyrpscT.jpg?1

Really feels good to get him finished.  I'll be posting some more pics in my blog as well as a group shot of all the Word Bearers together.

Huge thanks to Grotsmasha for organising this challenge, I've really enjoyed it and it has driven me on to paint a lot more than I think I would have done otherwise.

Thanks also to everyone else who has taken part, for the kind words about my painting and the encouragement that you have given me.

Here's hoping for a less turbulent, but no less productive 2021.  See you on the other side.

Declaring my December vow complete:

Incursors:

Inceptors:

Decided to leave the bases as they are as I want to rebuild them from the ground up to get rid of those supporting sticks.

Now for the yearly summary.... Wow!
I just finished my personal calculations and I'm truly impressed with what this event and your support and some friendly competition helped me achieve

Picture first:
gallery_105306_14251_148544.jpg

Numbers second:
- 100 finished models (not counting some re-paints I did) + 14 terrain pieces
- completed models points value of 2780 and roughly 150 PL
:woot:

There is also a single failure - the Storm Raven of the Plodding Along vow

med_gallery_105306_14251_446168.jpg

While I did manage to repaint the hull, I did not finish the Hurricane Bolters.

I have to say I'm really impressed with all your hard and excellent works here, folks.
Happy New Year, everyone!

Good.  Close to finishing my Knight (plodding along) but still need to rack up my 12th and final seriously for the year.  So will need to vow something and then complete in the final 48hrs...

Completing the Knight will count as a Seriously for December :tu:

Awesome.  All I need to do is a final highlight and paint a gun and if I am feeling plucky tomorrow the pilot and cockpit.  Just test fitted today and... well its been a year and a half in the making and damn it feels and looks good...
