Hi all,

 

Ive been getting into my GK again as I take a break from Admech while waiting on the flyer. For fun I pit together a Brigade, just to see if it could fit now and it does quite nicely.

 

The list is

GMNDK - fists, gatling psi and Heavy Psy. WARLORD First to the Fray

BC - stave, cuirass

Draigo

 

6 x 5 Strike Squads

3 x 5 Interceptors

 

Ancient with relic banner

Apothecary

Servitors

 

3 x NDKs

 

I played 2 ITC games and came away with wins in both. Quite surprising as this wasnt designed to be a competitive list and I was up against Tau and then Dwatch/BA/Guard. Both olayers are seasoned ITC players with competitive lists.

 

The Good

Having lots of units gave me tons of maneuverability for capping OBJ. I held more a lot in both games

Vortex is sweet! I remembered this from before but being able to drop a mortal bomb across multiple units is great. Has anyone used Orb Bomb on top for some real hurt???

Falchions are still top for cc. The extra attack on top of shock assault really helps get wounds through.

 

The Not So Good

Normal NDKs. They still arent great with their BS being hurt everytime they move. And their not that survivable either unfortunately. Take GMNDKs or just dont bother.

 

GK still die like any other marines but I did find it difficult to kill guys with a 2+ save using just the stormbolters. We really dont have any good -AP options at the moment with all weapons being heavy and involving losing a cc weapon and stormbolter!

 

I am looking forward to PA to see what we can do but getting two wins with a thrown together brigade against two dedicated tourney lists is pretty nice

Interesting list. I didn't ever think about doing Grey Knights Brigade.

 

For heavy support I really like Purgation Squads. They cost the same as Strike Squad with falchions and do some decent dakka. With rerolls from Draigo they are really nice. They could do a little better than NDK's

Yes the Purgation squads have been getting looked at if I do decide to remove the NDKs, change them to GMNDKs or run a horde style GK list. Theyre basically strikes that cant DS so just as good as all the rest.

I don't see why you would ever take a regular dreadknight with anything But Flamer and fists.

 

Gives him more attacks (especially with shock assault), never has to worry about ballistic skill, and is cheap (134pts)!

If you pay the extra points, you can deepstrike them. Maybe 3 at once? would be one hell of a distraction.
