Regarding Lord Arkos is there a consensus on the faithless legion trait? FAQs don't really address it in a straightforward way.

What I'm really looking for is if there is a way to take arkos in a faithless detachment that uses alpha legion strats/relics/wl traits and units in that detachment can still benefit from arkos +1 to advance and charge ability.

My intent would be to use lord arkos to enable DS assaults by deep striking arkos with renascent infiltration. This would allow units with mok- icon to reliably charge.. such as terminators, chosen, etc.

However it seems that the rules interactions end up with a 'faithless' detachment being renegade chapters with dark raiders (no alpha legion specific stuff) or else something bizarre like red corsairs or another of the renegade chapters counts as (again no alpha legion stuff if you want the +1 ability).

For reference:

CODEX HERETIC ASTARTES

If your Chaos Space Marines are from
a Renegade Chapter, or if they do not
otherwise have an associated trait, use
the Renegade Chapters trait opposite. For
example, all of the units described above
that are in a RED CORSAIRS Detachment
would have the Dark Raiders trait.

VIGILUS ABLAZE

If your chosen Renegade Chapter does not have an
associated Renegade Trait, you can instead pick the trait
that you think best represents your army.
(I am pretty certain this means pick from renegade chapters only)

Thoughts?

There's nothing definitive from GW, but RAW goes like this:

There's a line in the section about Legion Traits that says that you use Dark Raiders if your army is renegades "or have no other associated Legion Trait." Since the Faithless are in the lore an Alpha Legion warband, then they have an "associated trait" - Alpha Legion.

The problem is that the Chaos Trait section does not have the same line about Successors changing the Chapter Keyword on strats and WLTs, so you can't use anything that is keyword-locked to the Alpha Legion on units with the Faithless keyword except the Legion Trait.

It's not impossible to work around, but it cuts off all of our sneaky tricks.
