Alpha One
What Forgeworld Bolter would be more appropriate for a post-Heresy AL force, the Umbra/Ferrox or the Tigrus (given the AL's propensity for acquiring data I could see them being the only Traitor Legion to ever have gotten hold of it.) Also, what are some good simple markings I can use for my legionnaires to distinguish them (other than weapon loadouts)? As I plan to have everyone in Mk VI and helmeted, because it seems very fluffy to me to have them all be cookie cutter and anonymous, after all, we all are Alpharius. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/360969-al-bolter-and-markings/ Share on other sites
Tiberius Cato
Maybe do scale patterns on different spots? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/360969-al-bolter-and-markings/#findComment-3804299 Share on other sites
Horus Lupercal
The scale idea seem really cool. Maybe single/multi-headed serpents? Fire Golem
In Extermination there's lots of possible heraldry, chains, Greek letters, hydras, faded scales on the armour... Slips
In Extermination there's lots of possible heraldry, chains, Greek letters, hydras, faded scales on the armour... To expand on this; color wise you cold go Metallic or non-metallic -> Amethyst, Cobalt, Emerald (or mix of any of those three), Black for the Effrit Squads under Omegon, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/360969-al-bolter-and-markings/#findComment-3804449 Share on other sites
Kilofix
So question - what icon can I use to subtlely mark non-PA Alpha Legion operatives that isn't the usual / obvious Hydra or Scales? Like something that other AL Ops would supposedly recognize but the lay person wouldn't? Thanks for the opinions! Excessus
Chains or swirly motifs perhaps? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/360969-al-bolter-and-markings/#findComment-3818995 Share on other sites
Iron Father Ferrum
The first things that come to mind are the pre-Heresy "chained-A" symbol, or the overlaid Alpha & Omega symbol. As pre-Heresy icons, a modern-day lay person or even most loyalist Space Marines are unlikely to identify them. Redtoof
How about a lower case Alpha? That would be suitably subtle but appropriately obvious when you know.
