How do i do whatever this is?

As long as it's a single piece cut to shape, a 3mm thickness piece should be plenty strong enough. If the texture doesn't come that thick, doubling up, or gluing it on top a plain 2-3mm piece of plasticard will do the trick.

Also: sprue struts on the inside could also support it well enough

Why not? The inside isn't visible anyway and you can't make it "TOO" sturdy.

But as the others said, don't underestimate the power of 2-3 mm plasticard.

If you have some leftover plastic piping (or someone among your friends has) you could also make one or more pillars to support the structure, if you're really worried about very heavy models and want to be super safe.

What kind of glue do you use for plasticard?
