FOUNDING/EARLY HISTORY

  • Ecclesiarch Umberto II wished to see the Ecclesiarchy's presence reinforced in the frontier Sylus sector (which borders the Ghoul Stars) and decided that establishing an Order Militant there was a good way to achieve that goal;
  • Strong ties with the Knight House and the industrial clans on neighbouring Kamala after years of mutual assistance and trade.

HOME WORLD

  • Graeda (Feudal World), Caspro system, Kriss sub-sector, Sylus sector;
  • Caspro is a sun-scorched system, only the furthest two (out of six) planets are inhabitable;
  • The system is considered a bastion of Imperial military strength in the region;
  • Gradea is the fifth planet, the sixth is Qa'amal (Feudal World);
  • Have a small convent on Terra, in proximity to that of the Order of the Argent Shroud (their "parent Order").

BELIEFS

  • Venerate Emperor as a sun-deity;
  • This is a common practice across the worlds of the Sylus sector, with many variations.

ORGANISATION

COMBAT DOCTRINE

  • Fluid battle tactics, always on the move, favour mobility of their troops and guns.

You're off to a good start. Is "Umberto II" the Ecclesiarch who ordered the Order founded? (The name sounds male.) If so, why? Did St. Silvana visit Gradea in the distant past, and then Cardinal Umberto II sought to secure relics the Saint left on the planet, to win acclaim in his bid to become Ecclesiarch? (An alternate explanation- Gradea is along a major Warp lane- would see the planet heavily industrialized to support the many starships passing by.)

Umberto II is an Ecclesiarch, yes. More specficially, he initiated multiple wars of faith and increased the influence of the Ecclesiarchy in M39.

If I were to hazard a guess, it'd most probably be because he wished to see the Ecclesiarchy's presence reinforced in the frontier Sylus sector (which borders the Ghoul Stars) and decided that establishing an Order Militant there was a good way to achieve that goal.

To ensure the Sisters' efforts aren't wasted, there should be ongoing efforts to industrialize the planets, i.e., uplift them from mere feudal worlds. Otherwise, the Sisters' materiel- weapons, ammunition, power armor, vehicles, fuel, the replacement parts to maintain and repair such technological products- must all be shipped in from nearby forge worlds, an expense that may force the successor of Umberto II to withdraw the Sisters and abandon the planets.

Maybe have a Knight Scion establish a cadet branch of his House on Kamala, so the planet will have the industrial facilities necessary to support the Sisters, in addition to serving as allies able to quickly come to the Order's aid if Graeda is attacked? A Knight World remains "feudal" despite being industrialized to support Knight warsuits.

Suggested Knight House for Kamala: House Savoia, a cadet branch of House Griffith, which shares its noble ancestors' martial traditions (and the ability to add 1 to its Knights' Attacks characteristics during any turn in which they charge or perform a Heroic Intervention, as detailed in 8th Edition's Codex: Imperial Knights). "Savoia" was the surname of Italy's last king, Umberto II, who, according to Wikipedia, had a "custom of giving a fleur-de-lis made of precious stones to favoured young officials in his entourage"- appropriate, no?

The all in gold armour does invoke a certain grandeur, especially given the Sun element of the local faith. However, I am not sure if the brown robes are going to help the armour or if they will lead to a blobbing of the colours if seen from a distance.  I am not sure if I am describing this well but I had colour scheme some years ago that looked great up close but at a distance the colours all kind of merged into a mishmash making it hard to see the models clearly across the table. Just some food for thought.
