The year 2019 has had its thread cut and it lies bleeding out into the white snow. The Leviathon of 2020 stomps past its corpse, Volkites screaming as boltgun rounds ping uselessly off its armour.

But what of the love we had for 2019?

What was everyones favourite release for the Age of Darkness in 2019?

And what are we looking forward to for 2020 and what would we love to see?

Personally....the Sabre tank was my favourite release by far. That little guy stole stole my heart!

And for 2020? Bring us the Lord of Knights, the son of the 1st Legion, let us see The Lion!

What you folks all think?

Best of 2019:

-Sabre

-Sanguinius

-Blood Angels Leviathan

-Dark Angels Praetors

Hope to see in 2020:

-Mauler Tank

-Heavy Destroyers

-Khan/Lion

-Resin Upgrade Kits for Breachers (or just plastic breachers)

-More Mechanicum Robots

I'll have to echo Marshall Rohr, the Dark Angel Praetors were fantastic as were the majority of their releases they've shown so far. I'm a little impartial, as I've been waiting for the 1st Legion for a number of years, but starting with the HQ choices and then showing us the dreadnoughts (Contemptor & Leviathan) I got really excited. The Crimson Paladins were also one of my favourite releases, and my favourite Terminator release of the year. Beautiful sculpting on the shields and on the armour itself.

What I'm most looking forward to this year is probably 1) The Lion, and 2) whatever special character they decide to do to support the 1st Legion.

If I were really wishlisting, and taking off the cap that keeps all sense of reason in my head - I would love to see more upgrade packs and generic HQ models. I don't think there's a generic Heresy-era Librarian, without going for one of the named characters or the Terms Sorcerer. Boarding Shield upgrade kits designed to work with plastic MkIII and MkIV kits would be huge, as would some sort of Jump Pack kit to make assault marines.

My favorite release was malevolence. Now the daemon balance is out of whack, but I love that it introduced a faction that is vulnerable to a whole different range of weapons, mixing up the "good" weapons. I also like the generic HQs that add new options and strategies to all the legions.

In terms of models? The DA sword and board praetor. It's so slick, I've been reminding myself that my blood ravens don't need a converted champion from it since they're supposed to be all primaris.

hope to see some PLASTIC heresy starter!

This. I want so badly to start an AL army for 40k, using 30k sculpts, and a plastic HH starter would be perfect for that.

The Dark Angels Preators are very sweet sculpts, I actually have to resist the temptation to get them, as I already have sword-armed legion champions with both power and terminator armour for my Fists. The leviathan though, that might end up finding a way into my army, even if I would be a bit scared to have to modify the chest piece and other DA-specific symbols.

As for future releases, I have nothing in mind right now, other than supporting other people petitions of 30K plastic starter (I still have over 50 plastic MkIII/IV to build so I'm in no need to get more right now) and MkII relaunch/plastic launch. I am happy to see FW has picked up the pace of releases, and even more important that they are able to surprise us with unnanounced ones, even if I have no particular interest in some of them (the sabre is nice enough, but not sure it fits for my army, and both tanks have a bit of a ridiculous price tag considering you're likely to need more than one to really make a potent unit).

I'm with you Parker. Seeing some sculps for the Consoul options would be great that aren't exclusives, just to give those who prefer to buy, build and paint an option over those who prefer to delve into the vault of bitz and pull out something awesome.

Oh, plastic MkII would be amazing. A man can dream though right?

Didn't FW do a Moritat with bolt pistols with cool little muzzle breaks or silences or whatever on the front but then they didn't put it out because they didn't think anyone would buy it?

Yes, I want to say it was at one of the Open Days or Weekenders. But it just gathers dust somewhere now I think. :/

Which sucks as it was a nice model, what they should have done was just sell the moritat with all the arms and that way the other arms that people didn't use could be kitbashed onto other models.

Yeah, the bolt pistols of that moritat were really cool, shame that it was never released. To be fair however, I don't think many people were taking moritats with just bolt pistols, and the limitation to 12 shots probably made the few that were using them that way stop, 12 bolt pistols shots is not an awesome damage output to be fair Edited by Elzender

I like the Blood Angels Terminators are my personal favorite, but what I want to see is rules for chaos Titans, complete with gun heads and weapons tails, just like in good old EPIC. What I hope to see is more Adeptus Mechanicus and Dark Mechanicus.

I do like the idea of more generic consul sculpts. As for praetors, I would be happy just with them releasing a PA/terminator praetor for all legions, but I guess a generic tartaros or a MkII/IV, even V/VI praetor would be great. Then again, I do not think they can currently top the current generic praetors kit, those are some amazing sculpts. The only reason I do not have them (yet) is because a lot of people have used them and their poses are very recognizable, and I always like to tweak my HQs to look a bit more unique. I might have to get them sometime though, amd see if I can repose them a bit.

Terminator preators YES! Though I really think they should do both one cataphractii and one tartaros that way you get a choice, for example the white scars have a preator in cataphractii but their legion unit is in tartaros and the Blood Angels have the exact same problem their preator is in a different pattern than their special unit.

Yup! Some Dark Mechanicus love this year would be fantastic! Apparently they were planning on having them in with Dark Angels and Nightlords but the book wouldve been just toooo biiiigg! So...maybe end of 2020 we will see them? Here's hoping!

Blood Angels TDA, forgot about them too! What a year 2019 was!

No Foes Remain, yes, I remember having the same feeling about the discordance of the BA and WS praetors with their respective unique terminator squads. However, you could always use one of the terminator sculpts as a base for a praetor, and I want to think the FW team actually had a similar idea in mind, so that you can have access to both kinds of terminator armour for praetors or assorted HQs. Maybe not the best way to go (having dedicated sculpts for both kind of armour would be great), but I think it is a good enough solution. Edited by Elzender

2019: I loved Sanguinius. BA praetors were nice. Sabre was a nice surprise. I also liked the fact that Heresy became a little bit more visible on WH-Community website.

2020: I would like all the special characters and units that still don't have their models to get them. Some Dark mech would be cool. Heresy getting even more attention. But what I would like to see the most is improved quality of sculpts (would love E.Skomorowski to come back to FW! :D )
