Ravager number 2 done!

 

I painted this to essentially be the opposite of the other Ravager I have

 

Disintegrator Cannons aren't topdog meta wise at the moment, however:

This was what I had built however many years ago (and don't have the DL from the left over bits)

I face a lot of SM hordes, bikes of different flavours and even Crisis suits, they should come in handy!

 

Just the Talos left to do for the Vow!

Back from my Stag-do reinvigorated for painting and straight back in with a completed Talos:

 

The new Talos hanging out with his equally creepy brother:

 

This does bring my Dark Eldar chunk of my Call to Arms vow to completion (although it's not my entire Eldar Vow just yet)

 

For my Dark Eldar, I've still got some bits in the backlog that I need to get done, including an old school Talos, I think I'll use as a Cronos. 20 Wracks with a Haemonculus and a Voidraven bomber. We'll see how I go with the rest of my current vow as to whether I manage to get these done in another vow!

I've decided to Vow again as I've got about 16 days to get these done, nice and easy, right?

The Voidravens are so sick model wise and gameplay wise, I'm looking forward to giving them a go!

 

I got the Mandrakes done, they're quite easy I think:

 

Which brings me up to 10 total, they're bloody useful so the more the merrier!

 

I also got the test model done for the Wracks, I'm going for a Flayed Skin look which I think I got:

 

The skin is done but the rest needs a tidy up. Otherwise very happy with the scheme

I’m not keen on the replacement wrack models myself but your brushwork on them is ace!

Different strokes for different folks! Whilst the official Wrack models are rad, they're a) quite busy (in my opinion) and b) waaaay too expensive

They're £24, direct only for 5 models vs the £22 I spent for 20 Kairic Acolytes with some hand swaps

Cheers Pearson! I'm very happy with the Wracks, I will just need to replicate that on 15 more of them at some point in the future

The Bomber is done! It's such a lovely model and I think the pattern is something I'm going to be sorely tempted to paint on the Razorwing too

It is an interesting pattern on the bomber. It feels like it is missing something though, at least in the black areas. Maybe just some decals or glyphs will take it even higher.

Cheers Yncarne! I was thinking about adding the same curved red scar on the Black side of the wings, it's definitely something to try! I also need to go through he army and add the Kabal symbol where I can too which would go on the vertical wing in the middle

 

I've finished off the Talos (that I'll likely mostly use a Chronos):

These Events are fantastic for my motivation and really help me get stuff painted! In total so far I've gotten about 820 points done for my Drukhari (+2400 for my Craftworlds project) which will be a massive boon for games I play. I'm particularly excited to give the bomber a go!

In terms of backlog, I have 15 Wracks left to do. I could've vowed them for a 3rd Vow or some of them at least but I've painted 80 Infantry models in total (not including Characters) in 3 months! I need a little break

I had a pair of those Talos back in the day. Could never be happy with them as they didn’t have good definition. You’ve actually made it look like a real model.

I second the addition of some sigils or other markings to break up the black on the bomber.

 

You've really nailed the fleshy gory bits of the Talos. Always thought that old model was cool, much more ambiguous and spooky than the newer sculpt.

The "new" Talos kit is ace and I love the weird fleshy, flating scorpion thing going on but the old school Talos has a Hellraiser vibe that is also incredible. I'm currently using it as a Cronos because it makes it a bit easier to tell the difference from a distance but also because it's supposed to have a gun on the tip of the tail but it kind of looks better without

 

I picked up the WH+ Vampire model with the intention of making it into a Dark Eldar Archon, which was super easy. So far the WIP is getting there, I think it'll look less "bit-y" towards the end of the painting process, it usually does:

Nailed it, that model was born to be Archonified!

 

And I agree re. the new Talos model, also very cool. Good idea to use the old as a Cronos to help set them apart.

Thank you both! It's a great mini that was definitely an Archon from the outset for me. What are Dark Eldar but Space Vampires anyways?

It's been a while since I checked in but I was recently gifted 10 Kabalite Warriors and a Venom from a very generous person on Hohohobbyvices (international hobby secret santa, essentially). As I currently don't have a "dedicated" Kabalite squad that bodygaurd my Archon, I thought I'd make one:

 

 

 

Dracon Drayvn and the Hex-marked, bodyguard for Mistress Salaine. They've been around a bit and have lots of Corsair bits and modifed weapons, the Dracon even has a Huskblade!

I'm doing a mildly different paint scheme for this squad to mark them out a little bit more, I'm going with a Black helmet/facemask for those that have them:

Maybe I could do a gold kneepad too?
