k0ldsh0ck
Hi everyone! I have been browsing the forums for a while now, and am excited to start posting for the first time! I had always wanted to get into Warhammer, specifically to collect and paint the miniatures. When KT was released, I finally made the move and started collecting, initially going for Tau to build a killteam. I was then quickly drawn to the SM models, and with the release of BSF and Shadowspear, to the Chaos models. Needless to say I have accumulated lots of minis, some of which I have built and some that I have painted. While I have played a few games of KT, I am really interested in trying out 40K with a friend. I would like to start out by building a 1000 pt SM army, and am hoping to ask for advice/suggestions. I have read the 40K rules and the SM Codex, but I find it is quite overwhelming trying to make a list, as I don't really know synergies, essential components and so on. I am wondering if this would be a good thread to post in for advice, or whether the Army list area is the place to post. Thank you kindly for your advice! Dosjetka
Welcome to the hobby and B&C, k0ldsh0ck! :tu: The Adeptus Astartes have received a wealth of updates lately and it's understandable that a newcomer might find it tricky to get their head around all the stuff there is in the Space Marine arsenal so don't worry about that too much. The first place to start, in my opinion, is with the following question: is there a particular Chapter that you like the look of or whose lore you enjoy reading? That would help in guiding you to the right place. :) In the meantime, you can head over to the + SPACE MARINES + subforum where you can post a thread for general advice (though there might already be such a thread so I'd recommend looking through the first page just in case). Then, once you have a rough list in mind, you can post it in the Codex: Space Marines Army Lists area for feedback. Whatever you end up collecting/playing, don't forget that rules are temporary, change every few months/years and so even if your particular sub-faction isn't the flavour of the month, as long as you enjoy collecting and painting them, you'll more likely than not have fun playing them, too. :tu: I hope that helps! k0ldsh0ck 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/361494-hello-everyone/#findComment-5467648 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Welcome aboard, you're in the right place ;) There's a lot to take in but you'll get on top of it sooner than you'd think and there's plenty of help to be had - you need only ask :tu: k0ldsh0ck 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/361494-hello-everyone/#findComment-5467730 Share on other sites
