Hi.

So, I have been going crazy trying to find a rule for this. Can anyone help me out by clarifying it?

Since the time of the Index I have been playing my bikers (regular bikers) with a combi weapon on the sergeant. I never realized that the codex does not actually allow that option.

Noone in a casual match or tournament, be it player, organizer or judge, has told me my bike sergeant is not-by-the-codex, but rather a pure index option.

But, now I have been 'found out' of sorts. And I have been told I cannot use my bike sergeant in an upcoming tournament, due to him being an index option. At the same time, every player I talk to mentions to me that they always thought that the option was available, due to some faq or rules clarification.

The thing is, I cannot find it.

Does anyone know if the sergeant for a ravenwing bike squad can take anything other than melee weapons and pistols? Is there a rule for this?

It's legal as long as you refer to the index datasheet for all wargear and rule Options.

So if, in DA codex 2.0 (whenever that is) the unit gets a cool new rule or something, you couldn't use it. You'd be stuck with the index datasheet.

As it stands, nothing is different between codex and index other than sergeant wargear options so crack on!!

As a rule of thumb, if the tournament allows index options, you are good to go. If not, you got to abide by it.

I am considering chopping of my combi plasma on one of my bike sergeants, as the tournaments I mostly play in are ETC format where index options and FW stuff is off the table.

Get a hobby knife between the body and arm/shoulder pad you can get the whole thing off intact then drill both the body and shoulder and insert magnets nealy all my Sgt and special weapons are done like that, I got the spare arms from the black night box set.
