40K establishing their own events? Thoughts?

Happy Monday everyone!

 

I saw this on my twitter feed and was curious if anyone else has info or thoughts?  Seems pretty relevant considering the popular thread of competitive vs casual.  

 

I have seen GW getting REAL serious with their brand and content, with their recent "Ident" and PA books.  They are seeing phenomenal growth and this is a logical move.  Thoughts?

If it means they’re less beholden to outside tournament formats for objective balance data then I think that’s a good thing.

GW has nothing to do with this move. The organizers and team captains of the 40k event at ETC have decided to separate from the ETC organization and do their own thing.

Thanks Toaae!  I was missing some context there!  Greatly appreciate the clarification!  I read that post on Twitter and got my hopes up...and we all know what hope leads to...
