FormelyKnownAsSmashyPants
As the title says I want to put a contemptor dreadnought head on a DC dreadnought sarcophagus. I want to make a realistic looking MkIV dreadnought for my BA to run as a dakka dread, the saltires are no problem as I plan on filling them using the super glue/bicarbonate soda trick and then smoothing it down using sanding sticks, but wondering if anyone has ever done a head swap on the Death Coy dreadnought before. I realize that the vanilla venerable dreadnought can be built as a MkIV, but I think it looks pants and feel that its not BA enough for my tastes. I've just compared the two dreadnought sprues, and the contemptor head is miles bigger than the skull, but wondering if once the skull is removed, whether I'd be able to build up the sarcophagus to fit the contemptor head. The other thought I had was trimming down a SM infiltrator head and getting it to fit. Any ideas from anyone, or insights as to how to go about it would be great. Any pics would be even better. Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to offer. Closet Skeleton
The venerable dreadnought kit is really flexible but honestly you might just be better looking for a Forgeworld Mark IV on ebay.
