StraightSilver
Well, it's been a while since I picked up a paint brush. Unfortunately my job has been super busy due to the pandemic (I manage health and safety in a medical research building so it's been pretty full on) which has left very little time for hobby.Because I'm still feeling very rusty I wanted to start something different so have made a start on some Delaques. These probably weren't the best models to start with after a long break as they are actually way more fiddly than they first seem.I also wanted to have a play around with the contrast paints as I hadn't really had much use out of them. Â Not overly happy with them so far, but they are still very WIP. I think the biggest issue was the white undercoat - Corax White on a cold day does not come out smooth, and on one or two of the models it's really grainy. However, the experiment using contrast paints on their leather coats has, I think, worked. I wanted an aged leather effect and I think it's not bad.But it is good to be painting again but I think I will go back to scenery for now just to get back into it a bit and have fun drybrushing. Doghouse
I think they look really good, you've nailed the leather effect and they look really nice as a whole. Cheers Doghouse, they're actually lovely models some of the details on them is tiny... The bionics were particularly tricky after a long break. Â It was nice to be able to get 10 minis base coated so quickly using contrast paints though. I need to play around with them more as they seem very versatile. Â I've actually now finished the Delaques but can't seem to get decent photos... Â Ogryn Slave Gang next and I am very looking forward to painting these. I should also finish the last couple of Enforcers to. Majkhel
Those coats look great!White is generally grainy as white has the biggest particles. An off-gray would be definitely better to work with. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/361782-necromunda-diving-into-the-underhive/page/3/#findComment-5660851 Share on other sites

StraightSilver
Cheers everybody. Â I've moved over to Wraithbone for the primer and it's giving much smoother results but I'm finding the paint has more of a tendency to rub off, but maybe that's just me. Â Anyway, made a start on the Slave Ogryns and am thoroughly enjoying painting these. Â Very WIP at the moment and sorry for potato cam pics, lol. Bjorn Firewalker
Good job on the ogryns. What's on his chest? A bomb to be used against enemies the ogryn fails to kill with his own hands (if it's a suicide bomb) or so the slaveowner can destroy evidence and cover his tracks (if it's detonated by remote)? Miek
Yeah the ogryns (if I got it right) look amazing! I'm having trouble deciding what to pick as my favorite part (too many choices), but I'm looking forward to the completed pics.
