Does anyone have a definitive reason to take one over the other or is it just situational?

I have two new Exorcist models I am putting together and wondering how to build them.  I do have my old metal models for Exorcist missiles but would need to duck tape on some heavy bolters somehow ... lol.  So my first thought is to go with the Conflagration rockets on the new ones.  However I don't see that much need for more S5 shots for the army as a whole.  Maybe.  Would be nice in putting down poxwalkers that are all over the place these days.

On the other hand, long range S8 has been the Exorcist's role and something we can't really get elsewhere. This is my current way of thinking and how I plan to build the new models unless someone can convince me rockets are a better option.

Any one have any opinions?

So I originally wanted to take Conflag missles, every game I have lost hard because of lack of long range AT. Yeah we have Multimelta Retributors, but they arnt as survivable usually.

Ive only really seen success with Exorcist Missles, MAYBE one with conflag when fighting horde armys or something, but even then horde armys usually will have something the Exorcists can target.

as of now I find the Conflags near useless because your whole army is good VS Infantry already

Yeah, always go the Exorcist missiles myself. It provides absolutely necessary anti tank/big thing range support. I see no sense in giving it the conflagration missiles when the rest of the army has flamers and bo liters to spare to easily deal with those kinds of targets.

The last 3 games I've had, I can say with 100% certainty I would have lost if my exos had anything other than the exo missiles.

Thanks, that was how I was thinking, too.  Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

For what it's worth, I don't think anyone would care which organ tops I put on the model but I still want to be as wysiwyg as possible.

No matter which one you choose, the kit looks like it will be very easy to set up a magnet to swap out missiles.

You never know what they could do when the next FAQ comes out, so don't trap yourself into a corner.

Always a good point.

Also I wouldn't worry to much about adding a Heavy Bolter to your older models... especially if you are just planning on using duct tape.

If you really want to, go for it, but personally I wouldn't damage a fully painted Exorcist, especially for a weapon that isn't an optional upgrade.

This isn't a situation like the SM Bike Characters where it was an option before and now it isn't available in the codex.

So it isn't like your older Exorcists are Legendary models that are banned at tournaments.

The Conflagaration Launcher is a good anti-infantry weapon on a platform that has access to your best anti-armor option. That is its only real downside, because the Exorcist in most matchups needs the Exorcist Missiles to help your army more than it needs the Conflag.

Duct tape was a joke, as in the sister would be adding the weapons to the vehicles themselves.

Thanks, all, for the input.  I was thinking the same thing.  We only have one option for 48" ranged support and I believe anti-tank would do better than anti-horde.  I'm staying with Exorcists missiles on these two models for the ranged anti-tank.
