A squad of Eliminators is 72 points. If they take out a character every other game, they're probably about breaking even.

With Guided Aim, on average they take 2 wounds off a Space Marine Captain in a turn, less if he has a storm shield. If you want to blow away characters left and right, you need multiple squads. Their raw firepower isn't incredible, it's just good for a sniper unit.

Has anyone had a game where their Eliminators were doing work?

Taking out Characters left and right? I have been using them for the last 6 games and

they have only taken out about 3 heroes.

Well how many have you been taking? Just 3 won't do much. You gotta take at least 6.

Which is good since they are cheap as hell. If they'd kill characters or vehicles left and right with just 3, aka less than 100p, they'd be broken beyond reason.

If you use the Raven Guard supplement and take 9 bolt sniper rifle Eliminators, you will kill an average Space Marine character a turn, and absolutely obliterate human or Eldar characters. Also, one tip is to use the Sergeant to spot for the other two shooters as this will get a little bit more damage on average, except for if one of the Eliminators is dead, you have a Chapter Master nearby, or they are already hitting and wounding on 2's, etc.

What Tyberos said . . . and Master Artisans ;)

Which is a great combo for any Marine MSU build. It doesn't help my Aggressors much (that's what the Master of Sanctity is for) but add a couple Stalker Intercessor units with the Eliminators and your opponents will start to regret any character heavy list they bring pretty early in the game.

They really shine for Raven Guard from turn 2 and on (assuming you stay in Tactical the rest of the game).

They aren't as good for other Chapters, but can still put some work in. RG Eliminators can drop characters on their own, other Chapters are generally better off using them to strip off the last wound or two.

I had a game a while back where my Eliminators ended up winning it for me by killing a Canoptek Spyder in the final shooting phase of the game, which scored Let Them Know Fear, Scour The Skies, and Overwhelming Firepower all at once.
