Hey all. I was wondering if anyone had access to a good DIY guide to building a large line of sight blocking centerpiece for a game table. I'd like to avoid using more pre- bought terrain, since it tends to be really expensive. I've got a sheet of ABS plastic for the bottom to place it on top.

At that point, maybe buying pink insulation foam, carving it into shape, and placing some kind of installation or something into it? I'm not particularly skilled with conversions or terrain.

Any and all advice welcome!

I suppose it depends on what you're looking for ... way back when (1990s), GW published a book called "How To Make Wargames Terrain" (it had a focus on scratch-building things).  One of the things they did was took a 1970's Star Wars toy (GR-75 transport) and "crashed it" ... if you're OK with looking using toy kits, it might be a start (especially if you can find them cheap at a car boot/yard sale)

Doing the "obvious Google search" gives a few tutorials:
