I'm thinking of picking up the Kill Team starter set for the scenery, but I might as well add the Reivers to my all Primaris IF army.

What's the best way to equip them? Carbines to take advantage of the Chapter Tactic? Are the grapnels or the grav chutes more useful?

They're also a pretty solid unit to drop down and contest objectives later in the game. Pretty cheap for the number of wounds, even if they aren't super killy. Remember that IF ones with carbines ignore cover, potentially gain AP -1 from the Tactical Doctrine (if you have no further need for Devastator Doctrine), and have more shots than the pistols so they have a greater chance at landing some exploding 6s.

I've found they can be pretty decent in that role later in the game, especially in CA19 missions where you might need the mobility.

Honestly, Incursors are a better option in almost every respect. They can infiltrate, their guns ignore shooting penalites and cover(addmitedly redundant in actual IF lists), they are solid in CC and can get a first turn charge to tie stuff up if necessary. Most importantly, they are troops, filling a slot in your battalion/brigade while also being useful.

Sure, but this is kind of irrelevant. Can't build Incursors from the Reivers in the box OP is buying.

The topic is how to equip Reivers for IF, not "should I use Reivers", so while you have a point, it doesn't really matter.

He said he was thinking of picking up the box, which is the only reason I mentioned it. But fair enough

You know, you're totally right and I mistook the intent.

Incursors are certainly a valid choice here if you're on the fence because that is relevant for everyone else too. I was wrong to dismiss the point completely. Cheers
