Galron
This is a very long term project I have been working on for a year so far and i have a ways to go. Its simply a Praetorian converted army with pith helmeted cadians and all the bright colors and such. Its a hobby project more than anything and likely wont be completed before 9th comes out. So with PA out I have redone my detachment types based on their roles on the field. I just got the last line infantry squad of my brigade built today and have started painting them. I dont tend to build more than I plan on painting that week but have been sick and not felt like moving much so I built a few squads and unit members so I can paint them at any time. As I go through the list I will label whether they are done or not. Brigade Cadian Company Commander power sword/laspistol (Done) Tempestor Prime command rod and chain sword (Done) Primaris Psyker Nightshroud and Psychic maelstrom 5 Infantry squads plasmagun, lascannon (all built, 3 painted) 1 Scions squad 2 plasma guns, plasma pistol (done) 3 Vet Squads bolter on sgt, 3 grenade launchers, missile launcher (1 painted) Platoon commander 3 scout sentinels Lascannons/Hunter Killer missiles(done) 3 Heavy Weapons squads. 3 Autocannons each. (1 Painted) Battalion 1 Midfield Battalion. These guys jobs are to push up to midfield objectives and hold them. Wilderness Survival, rapidfire 18" doctrines Lord Commissar warlord power sword, master of command (done) Lord Commissar power sword 5 Infantry Squads Bolters on sgts, meltaguns 1 Scion Squad 2 plasmaguns, plasma pistol(done) 2 Astropaths Nightshroud Platoon Commander (done) 2nd Batt Assault Battalion Emperor's Conclave The two assault related traits from PA (-1 Ap and the other one with extra attacks) Their job is to take the fight to the enemy, block up the board to limit enemy deep strikes. Basically take fire off the main gun line or if ignored, they can tie quite a bit up. Company Commander Field commander, WLT Fiery Denouncer, Laurels of Command, power Sword(done) Company Commander Power Sword (done) Tempestor Prime command rod (done) 5 Infantry Squads power sword, flamer Scions 2 plasmaguns plasma pistol (done) 3 Ministorum Priests Now the question I am sure readers are wondering is why the scions spread out? Their job is to drop in and do something important on the 2nd or better 3rd turn. I could stick them all in the brigade but it woundnt add anything to the list. The prime purpose of the list is as a guard infantry force, not a scions force(already have one of those) so I went for different infantry detachments instead of the nifty scions ones. War Angel
Your midfield battalion has no commands, and if I’m not mistaken, only the scion commander can issue orders to the scions, but they would have to be in the same detachment because of the different regiments your using. Could be wrong on that part. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362002-allmostly-infantry-post-pa/#findComment-5478099 Share on other sites
Galron
Scions in this case do not get regiment tactics so a tempestus can command any of them. There is the Master of Command Lord Commissar and a platoon commander in the midfield battalion. I figure I need most of my commands for the gunline battalion for bring it down. If I am wrong on the scions thing then theres space for all of them in the brigade. Hoping the flood of troops will throw off most peoples normal plans of actions, especially with 13ish units in the deployment zone and 13 +characters out in the field.
