Interrogator Stobz
Hi All, Probably time to start a proper AT Blog, thanks to Capt Semper and the Regulars here for being awesome. Here's my starting point of the first project, a bunch of Legio Krytos (ish) dudes: Here's WIP one of the Warlord: and: And my more recent work a WIP of the base colours done, only 76 nautical miles of trim to go then basing... and: Now, he is a lot more blue than I intended, but my son wants him this colour so it shall be. Fajita Fan
Looks awesome, you could add in some stripes on the front shoulder panel to break up the blue, maybe a checkerboard somewhere else. Either way it looks very regal as it is. Captain Semper
Stobz this lovely! The cleanliness of the result is your signature style which I really, really like! I also think the muted shade of blue and your take on the trim (the dull “bronzy” look vs. a vibrant golden look) are really paying dividends here. This trim ties everything together and I’m sure it will be even more evident once the upper body is done! As for the stripes and/or chequers, they would have been welcome but are by no means a must. Not background wise, nor visually. If your son likes his Titans plain, that’s totally fine. Frankly doing stripes can be so much fun, you may easily overdo it (like some Captain I know... ) Interrogator Stobz 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362004-stobznsons-mini-titans-atarus-vs-krytos/#findComment-5478108 Share on other sites
schoon
Looks great! What are you using for your wash(es)? If you haven't already considered it, I'd suggest oil-based for some really smooth finishes and nice transitions. Interrogator Stobz
Cheers for the advice Brother Schoon. I just use Nuln, Agrax and Seraphim. I've not used oil based ones, from what I've seen is they are excellent but I'm happy with mediocre and the acrylic ones are fine thanks mate. Interrogator Stobz
If you mean from the campaign books nope. As a relative noob to AT I have yet to buy them, something I will rectify this year for sure. What are the new rules you speak of? In Shadow&Iron I take it? Fajita Fan
That’s a really good, simple scheme that actually looks like a realistic way they’d be painted. The simplicity keeps the illusion of scale, they look big. Does that make sense? Interrogator Stobz
Me too brother ;) I have yet to decide what style they'll be. Likely be wrecked roads and craters like many others here, my poses limit stepping up on stuff. I have made a good dent into starting a pair of Warhounds for this not-quite-Krytos Legio, pics tonight.... Interrogator Stobz
....and great news, my boy has given his permission for me to subtly weather these Titans. So once they are all done tidy I get to play, at the same time as basing ofc.
