Swarbie8D
Loving the conversions!!! especially the DG carrying the torso of the AM guy, will you be using GS to make it look like he's spilling his guts everywhere? Absolutely! He’s gonna be alive but very unhappy about it xD I figure he’d make for a good Icon of Despair if I ever find the points to pop one on the unit Sagentus 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362006-swarbie%E2%80%99s-project-log-house-interitus-more/page/2/#findComment-5509959 Share on other sites
Sagentus
that is a great idea, to use him as an icon of despair, it would certainly send out the right message lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362006-swarbie%E2%80%99s-project-log-house-interitus-more/page/2/#findComment-5510043 Share on other sites

Swarbie8D
Thanks Verux! I’m going back to work (from home) next week but I’m chugging along on my hobby stuff. First up, the final member (for now) of the Plague Marine close assault squad. The blade of his Great Plague Cleaver is from the Chaos Knight kit. It’s a chunky weapon for a chunky boy! I’ve also completed the test piece for my Necromunda Zone Mortalis walls. One side is an emergency Escher chem station, and the other is a Goliath urinal. I had a lot of fun painting graffiti, and the wall itself was pretty simple to assemble. It also looks pretty good on the Necromunda tiles. Swarbie8D
Well I’ve been doing some more work! This time around I decided I’d try and do a truescale Plague Marine! He ended up being a bit bigger than actual truescale, so he’s going to be my warband’s leader, swollen with power to the point where he’s on the verge of Daemonhood. He still needs a lot of putty work, a backpack and some thicker arms. I’m also tempted to magnetise him, but I might also just find a loadout that suits him thematically. This guy is only ever gonna be for narrative games so he doesn’t need a really legal loadout. Currently he has a Blightlauncher and a Plaguesword, but I’m tempted to switch the sword out for a Flail of Corruption. He’s treading on a Tempestus Scion, who will be slowly sinking into the muck of the battlefield. I like to imagine this Lord is so far removed from morality that he doesn’t even understand he is killing an enemy by walking there; humanity is just another step on the Path to Glory, and it is one he has long since left behind. Swarbie8D
Been getting a lot done even though I’m back at work now! I’m focusing on finishing up my Necromunda Goliath gang so I can play that fully painted. I actually got in a game of The Trap over the weekend, as restrictions are beginning to ease up here in Australia. Here’s Benny the Stimmer, about 95% complete Brock the ganger, who chased off two Van Saar champions to win me that game of The Trap. Also about 95% complete. And Buster the Juve, completely finished. I’m really happy with how these guys are coming out! I’m using this gang as the opportunity to test out painting a bunch of different skin tones. Benny and Brock will be finished up once some replacement paints get to me from GW. Swarbie8D
More work to do, more work is done. I got inspired and had a great idea for a Knight Tyrant, but first I’ve got to get down and finish the Rampager! So I lucked out on having a clear sunny day and got everything primed. Did a test assembly and I’m much happier with him with a little paint on. His heraldry will be black with some white and green points of interest to tie him back to the rest of the House. Also surprisingly enough, nothing is glued on in these pictures apart from the head! He’s holding together really well; I guess I accidentally made him balanced? I hope you guys like it! Swarbie8D
Alrighty, I’ve been a busy boy once again! I’ve got the parts for and started working on my Knight Tyrant, but don’t have any halfway decent pictures yet. I’ll make another post showing off the progress there soon. However what I did manage to do is finish painting my Necromunda gang (well I gotta paint an alternate loadout for the leader still but ehhhhhh). So I now present The Broiler Boys in all their hunky glory! Barret, the Tyrant-in-Exile Benny the Stimmer Binks the Forge Boss Buster the Bully Brent the Forgeborn Prospect Bole the Bruiser Specialist Buddy the Bruiser Bazz the Bruiser Brock the Bruiser I’ve had a ton of fun with these guys and am already working on more Necromunda stuff! I hope you enjoy! Swarbie8D
Work work work The Knight Tyrant still isn’t ready for photos, so instead here’s an update on the Rampager’s paintjob. Tödesuhr is now at about the 50% marks with lots of detailing, trim and some base coating left to do. However, I am extremely happy with how it’s coming along! As always, let me know what you think! I hope everyone’s enjoying these updates Sagentus and Dr_Ruminahui 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362006-swarbie%E2%80%99s-project-log-house-interitus-more/page/2/#findComment-5535757 Share on other sites
Bjorn Firewalker
Impressive work on Tödesuhr. Why did you name the Knight "Death Sour"? Swarbie8D
Impressive work on Tödesuhr. Why did you name the Knight "Death Sour"? Hmmm I was going for “Bitter Death”, that’s what I get for Google Translate I guess xD ah well, it kinda sits well with language being all messed up by the 41st millennium anyway. @Mr Yellow: thank you! Kitbashing is honestly my favourite part of the hobby. There is a nearly endless supply of fantastic bits to combine together, and with a little ingenuity (and a lot of disregard for $100+ purchases) you can come up with some really fun builds! Dr_Ruminahui
Ran out of likes for today, but I need to come back when I've got some to use on all the awesome in this thread. I’ve also been doing a lot of Necromunda stuff, including planning to build my own Zone Mortalis walls! But for now, I’ll simply show off my second painted Ganger, Buddy.I really enjoy working on Necromunda models, in learning something new with each one! Working on Buddy taught me how to paint stubble, so I’ll be using that here and there from now on. The ganger looks great - really good job on the stubble. Care to share your technique? Swarbie8D
Sure! The skin is Pallid Wych Flesh with varying amounts of Guilliman Flesh mixed in as it gets highlighted. For the stubble I took the mid-flesh tone (probably about 1:2 Guilliman:Pallid Wych) and turned it into 1:2:1 Guilliman:Pallid Wych:Eshin Grey. I stippled it on in the outline of where I wanted the stubble to go, then added a little more Pallid Wych Flesh into the mix to make a lighter tone and sort of stipple-blended that in as it went up the cheek. I thought it didn’t look quite thick enough, so then I added a little more Eshin Grey and made it darker along the jaw line up to about in-line with the corner of the mouth. It’s a pretty simple mix overall, you just want to make sure the skin tones in the stubble colour are still there so it looks like lots of short hair over skin rather than just grey skin. Swarbie8D
Hey it’s me, back with another update! The Indomitus box reveal has me allllll kinds of excited, and so I went out and got a box of Necron Warriors and the Necron SC (I’m gonna give all the Warriors the spare weapons from Indomitus). However, I couldn’t decide on a theme. I have just read Severed, and it was awesome. I would love to do a Severed Dynasty. Buuuuuuut I also adore the idea of doing a Flayer Cult, so I decided to make a test model for each and then decide. Here they are! Severed Dynasty Flayer Cult They both took around the same time to paint, but the Flayer obviously involved a lot more work prepaint. I’m probably gonna go with a Flayer Cult. It fits my dirtier style more than a Severed/normal Dynasty, and lets me go nuts with kitbashing and converting. However, I’m not totally sold on the blue Gauss colour. What do you guys think? Bjorn Firewalker
Your models are well-painted. Severed Dynasty Is he targeting Sarah Connor? Flayer Cult I didn't know Necron Flayers can use guns. However, I’m not totally sold on the blue Gauss colour. What do you guys think?I think a blue-green will look better, to incorporate the "necrotic green" colors Necrons traditionally have- that, or blood red, so him and the T-800 will look like they're in the same army.
