Long time since I made any progress with my sisters, the Space Marine releases have somewhat distracted me. But I am back!

Got a squad of Retributors done;

Valorous Heart Retibutors

Have ordered some Repentia, which hopefully will arrive soon to add some melee punch to my lists!

  • 1 year later...

So it's been a while since I've done anything sisters related (got a little burned out on doing black & white colour schemes), but I have decided to finally work toward finishing a usable army.

To that extent, it is not surprising that I picked up Morvenn...

She was actually a lot of fun to paint!

So this is what I have now;

I have ordered myself some Sacresants and some more battle sisters so I can have a bit more flexibility in load outs.

That's all for now, happy hobbying! :D

Must admit, powered through this lot very quickly. May have almost burnt myself out on them again :unsure:

The good news is I think I've worked out a background that works for the ladies. So here we go; another BS squad, Celestian Sacresants and a Dogmata ready and raring!

I actually took photos of the rest of my collection with the same background. Don't want to spam the thread so will attach occasionally!

Happy hobbying!

Any tips on how to fix Ephrael's face without stripping it completely and starting again? Feel like I've lost a lot of the definition around the eyes because I screwed them up and had to paint over a couple of times.

Also if I were to strip the face, what would be the best method for stripping such a small area? Only have experience with full model stripping.

Nice work:smile: some suggestions:

Rims of the characters could do with being black, grey looks odd:yes:

The tube coming out of the priests nose could be painted to stand out.

The raised detail on the shoulder pads of st Celestine and co, would stand out if they were silver or similar colour.

The eyes of the helmeted canoness

Black highlights on the robes/armour needs to be stronger as it just looks unhighlighted to me

the edges of the book that the priest is holding up, looks black, could do with being a metallic

Thanks for the feedback :biggrin:

Just to cover them off;

The grey rims are army wide, you have actually reminded me I need to change Celestine's rim to match the rest.

Completely missed that, it is now bright orange!

They were originally layers and highlighted gold, doesn't seem to show up in the pictures. Have altered Celestine's shoulder accents to be more silver though as it does look better.

Used Eshin Grey, doesn't show up in the photos you are right. May need to add a lighter grey, just need to be careful that I don't change the overall colour as want them to be a black as possible.

Again a trick of the photo, rim of the book is dark brown, but you are right the corners need to be metal.

While I do really like the poses of the Sisters, I must admit I wish there was more variation in some of the poses, especially the Sister Superior. Case and point in these images, three separate Superiors that look basically the same.

You may want try using Celestian Sacresants bodies as  Sister Superiors for variety. I have aa box of Sacresants set up to be Bolter Celestians

That's a good shout. In the short term, I've pre-ordered one of the Imperium magazines that has the combat patrol Sister Superior in it so will have a slightly different pose there, plus a few more sisters and repentia which is never a bad thing.

Some more character models.

I really like how your white paints are coming out. Which technique you using?

Really nothing to it. White Scar base with either heavily diluted Nuln Oil (Gloves, shoulder ornaments, knee ornament), or Apothecary White over White Scar for the white robes. Hair is also Apothecary White over White Scar.

I try and keep things as basic as possible for painting, otherwise I would never get anything done! :sweat:
