The other thread where this came up got locked before I could reply, but there was some doubt about using Pious in a Sororitas army, and I wanted to make sure everyone knew that it can be done.

Pious has the Adeptus Ministorum faction keyword. All Adeptus Sororitas units also have the Adeptus Ministorum faction keyword. This key word is NOT one of the key words that is excluded under the battle brothers rule.

This means that if you have a detachment of Adeptus Minisitorum units, say Taddeus and 3 Penitents in a spearhead, Pious can join that detachment. There are no Order convictions in the detachment to break. The army is still battleforged, because all of your Order detachments also have the Adeptus Ministorum faction key word. This is the same concept that allows Sister Soup to work. I can have a Bloody Rose detachment, an OoOML detachment, a Sacred Rose detachment and a Ministorum detachment, all in the same army; every detachment gets to use its own Order conviction, and the arrangement doesn't break Sacred Rites either; unlike convictions, those are army wide so everyone gets the same rite,  and even the Ministorum detachment can benefit.

That is how you include Pious against even the most RAW, rules lawyer, player out there. Perfectly legal.

Having said that, I wish they had written her Ministorum Zealot key word the way they wrote the Missionary keyword. If so, her key word line would read: Character, Infantry, Mistorum Priest, Zealot, Pious Vorne. If they went that far, then you would actually be able to include her in a Sororitas detachment without breaking their conviction. I guess it's fair to say that she probably doesn't preach so much as inspire others to match her own level of violence.

On a final note, though, I tend to play with the kind of folks who see that every other Adeptus Ministorum faction key word model is on the list of models which explicitly do not break convictions when used in Order detachments and realize that her exclusion from the list was more likely the result of an intra- game interaction oversight than a deliberate exclusion. Beats me why GW didn't just say "Adeptus Ministorum units do not prevent Sororitas units in the same detachment from using Order convictions." They could have done away with the need for a specific list entirely.

Makes sense. Seems the only real downside to Sisters Soup is possible loss of CP due to multiple detachments.

The not-breaking Order Convictions thing seems self evident that any Adeptus Ministorum unit doesn't break them. RAW it seems the only way to break OCs are to have Sororitas from different orders within the same detachment.
