Grimdark_Garage
Hi all. I find that I have the option to get a model I've always wanted. A Relic Sicaran. Does this unit synergies well given how our army now works list PA4? I tend to run a big blob of Black Knights supported by Sammy and TM. Given the Sicarans speed, I thought they would work well together. Anyone got any first hand d experience? sneakybamsen
I am running a sicaran battle-tank at the moment in an escalation league. It's a decent tank, but that versions main gun is assault, so it doesn't benefit as much from being DA as other loadouts might do. But 51" (65" including movement) assault shooting does have it's benefits, I will say... I am currently not really planning on using it for competitive play, though. I think we have way better options in that regard. SnakeChisler
Getting mech to survive for any length in the current meta is difficult Most marine lists tend to use stuff with an invulnerable save with the leviathan appearing to be the beast of choice at the momment due to its 4++ and T8 As a model the Sicarian looks nice and will work OK in club games and looks a good option compared to a standard tank and it's not just about buying and modeling the new hotness In terms of PA4 the fact that the autocannon is assault is a bit of a deal breaker your standard autocannon in Dev doctrines gets +6" and will be neg2 instead of +3 and neg1 as is the case with the Sicarian. jbaeza94
What about the punisher? 42", heavy 18 s5 AP-2 d1, reroll 1s if you didnt move. That extra 6 inch is coming in handy with tackling infantry threats turn 1, and but reroll 1s ability is wasted due to grim resolve. I'm really digging the venator tank destroyer as well. My fav. 54" inch, heavy 3 s12 ap 5 Dd6 on a 14" platform that does not suffer a movement and shooting penalty. This tank will zoom everywhere, and supported by sammy/talon master rerolls, it will really put a hurt on vehicles. Oh, it also lowers their bs by 1 if a vehicle gets wounded. Alternatively, though not as good imo, there is the omega tank destroyer. Plasma. 30" range, heavy 6 s7 AP-4 d1 OR 30" range, heavy 3 s9 AP-4 d3, 6s cause a mortal wound. This guy will really benefit from relentless hunt, since it's only a 24 inch gun. The venator will statistically pump out more damage than the omega, but weapons from a dark age makes the omega deadlier. Imo, the standard sicaran is a Jack of all trades, master of none. It doesn't benefit as much from our doctrines/stratagems. But it still looks very fun to play. Ive always wanted one Edited February 25, 2020 by jbaeza94 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362118-sicarian-post-pa4/#findComment-5481567 Share on other sites
