Executioners Sternguard Squad Gurion; ‘The Pathfinders’:

 

 

Shadow pulled his blade clear of the latest of the Tyrant’s auxiliaries to fall to it. He took a moment to bathe in his auto senses, making sure there were no stragglers or further pickets he had overlooked before keying the vox back to Vet. Sgt. and axe brother Gurion. “Shadow reporting in, approach to checkpoint epsilon clear and moving to next uploaded coordinates...” Gurion gave Shadow quite some leeway in his operating as part of the overall squad. His real name hadnt been used or spoken in years, as he preferred his long standing nickname denoting his role as point man for the 1st Co. Sterngaurd Squad assigned to this theater.

He stretched his left arm, unarmored on purpose, as much for stealth and quickness as a part of ritual for him, while scanning the corners and broken windows ahead for the next 200 yards, and simultaneously mind blinked his Godwyn bolter’s load of sub sonic silenced rounds, and dampened the surrounding background noises to specific frequencies. Better to be ready and not underestimate the quarry, even if they were just mortal. One lucky plasma round could ruin the mission for the heavier elements of his squad flowing quickly into the gap behind him; and certainly cause a fatal mistake on his part personally. And he had many more tallies to gather to his credit before the sun would rise and their objective met.

Shadow checked his surroundings once more before moving off into the pre dawn gloom and grey, the only sign he’d ever been there in the first place, the bloody ruin of PDF auxiliaries’ bodies left in his wake, the hum of trans human power armor, and the slightest crunch of silica and rubble sounding under his massive ceramite boots.

Veteran Sgt. Axe Brother Gurion:

 

It had been many years since Badab, and many years since Gurion was first given command of the squad, yet once first contact took place, now more and more, he needed to remind himself that first his duty was to the mission and his men. He still carried the skull of the powerful psyker who slew his predecessor, and who he then had slain. It was a tally and trophy that grounded him in his new role as a squad leader. Less and less did his venerable combiflamer leave it’s mag lock. Instead he was keen to direct his squads considerable fire power in short and brutal close range firefights. This was their role and honor as the assigned aux to the Executioners 4th co. Codex devastator squad. And if the enemy strayed to close; he was still all too often happy to seek his glory directly by wading into the enemy with his power fist and bolt pistol, like a lion reaping a bloody path through all he encountered

The old school blue and grey urban camp scheme was a pain, but paid off in the end.

 

Unrelated question as VERY new to posting images; any reason why all of a sudden Photobucket would stop showing the posted links I set up! The pics are still in my Photobucket account but have been magically becoming ‘currently unavailable’ over time it seems.

 

Any advice appreciated, even though I know this isn’t exactly the forum for this question.
