Skywrath
My grey knight army so far. (2x GMNDK's, Kaldor, Paladin Squad). More to come. Colors used: Leadbelcher (base color), Stormhost Silver, Retributor Armor, Mephiston Red, Abbadon Black, Corax White, Ahriman Blue. Textures used: Armaggedon Dust, and some pebbles I found outside my home. The paladin squad and the next units will be done in Valhallan Blizzard. https://imgur.com/a/2cDxVox Next will be the strike squads. EDIT: Camera quality is shocking, there is nowhere as much paint on the figurines as the camera captured. Also noticed a few splurges on my figurines that are in dire need of correcting - will fix that. Wrath of Bruinen
Great work mate, really neat and it’s clear you’ve got your paint nice and thin. Might just be the pic quality, but have you tried a wash on the armour? It adds to the painting time because you’ll probably want to build the silver back up, but it helps give some definition to the armour plates and is really easy to do Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362154-skywraths-grey-knights/#findComment-5483140 Share on other sites
Skywrath
Great work mate, really neat and it’s clear you’ve got your paint nice and thin. Might just be the pic quality, but have you tried a wash on the armour? It adds to the painting time because you’ll probably want to build the silver back up, but it helps give some definition to the armour plates and is really easy to do I washed the armor with nuln oil when I applied the leadbelcher base coat on them. In the past, putting the nuln oil on top of the stormhost silver looks fairly dirty and you can see stains on them. In hindsight, it gives it that oily appearance you would want in a vehicle, but on top of the actual armor plating, not so much. Maybe I need a new type of wash (something that is clear).
