Lord Kallozar
Hey all, The warp ghosts, they seem very intriguing, am I right to presume that they are actually spectral? Also would such a spectral army still field war machines such as knight titans and the like, is there any need? Thanks. Lay
They aren't literal ghosts. Imperial Armour 13 had a lot of fluff about the warband that was scattered throughout the book. Sadly it's OOP now. According to the book, they are one of the larger non-Legion warbands, numbering in the thousands with a massive fleet. They suffer from a curse that has turned their souls immortal, but which also degrades their bodies. As such they need to posses host bodies to stay alive. They also act as mercenaries and "ferrymen" for other factions within the Eye of Terror. As such they ship other Chaos factions to warzones, demanding strong bodies to posses as payment. Among their allies are Fabius Bile and Sarum, a "wandering" Dark Mechanicum forgeworld. The Warp Ghosts' heavy tanks are collectively known as the Stygian Vanguard, which is accompanied by weird phenomena like ghostly mists. All in all, they come across as a heavily armed, well connected faction that could be paired with any other Chaos force given their background. Hope that helps.
