Skywrath
To my dismay, there was a post limit amount within a certain time for myself, and I never encountered that issue before. Is that supposed to be normal? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362254-certain-amount-of-posts-within-a-certain-time/ Share on other sites
Brother Tyler
Yes. It is intended to prevent spammers from inundating the site with spam posts. There are two alternate effects: If a member posts sequential replies in the same discussion in a short timespan, the software will automatically consolidate them. If a member attempts to post too many replies in different discussions within a short timespan, the software will automatically prevent them from making the additional posts during that timespan. The timespan is very short - a few minutes (5 or less, I don't remember off the top of my head), so it's only a minor nuisance in the rare instance that it takes place. We believe that the minor annoyance of having to wait a few minutes between submitting posts is well worth the alternative of having spammers flood the site with nonsense (or worse, malicious content/links). WarriorFish
Flood control is only for 30 seconds, automatic concurrent post merging is within 2 minutes :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362254-certain-amount-of-posts-within-a-certain-time/#findComment-5482518 Share on other sites
