Can Ragnar get a cool primaris story please?

Maybe something other than getting stomped or because he feels some higher purpose to doing so...like maybe..

 

he went full Altered Beast and why it's called Saga of the Beast...hes now a full on Wulfen Badass. He goes heads up with Waaaaaagh Ghazkul...an endless conveyor belt of killing and bloodshed. All his pack are slayed and he keeps powering up to fight stronger and stronger minions of Ghazkul.

 

The whole time The wolves have been searching for ragnar but also preparing to engage Ghazkul. When ragnar finally engages Ghazkul the titanic battle pushes his limits and fully embraces the wulfen form. Ghazkul cannot beat him but is still able to defend himself...ghazkul now starts having his nobs engage as hes running out of tricks to get an advantage over this Wulf Boi....

 

when ragnar went full beast...Njal felt his Primal Scream...

 

Ragnar is now starting to get slowed by the constant attacks by Ghazkuls boyz tag teaming him....when Ghazkul lines up a brutal attack as one of his Ard boys pins Ragnars sword arm....A thunderous Crack and a blinding storm of Energy knocks everyone but Ghazkul to the ground...Njal and Arjac Rockfist along with 10 of The Great Wolfs Terminator Guards appear and start slaughtering the green skins who now are excited at the chance for such a good fight...

 

2 of the wolf guard and Njal gather Ragnar who is starting lose his shiite and wanting to fight again but his body is filled crude ork projectiles and one of Ghazkuls power klaw digits is buried into his shoulder pad and his body. Njal hits him with that dank smoke and calms his mind....Ghazkul not long distracted and still wanting to kill this Wulf Boy...rushes at the wolf guard. One tries to block his charge with his shield...only to get tossed into the endless horde of boyz rushing to get a piece of 'Dem Furbois'...the second Guard moves in...hes almost blinding fast, faster than all the other Eavy Mareens Ghazkul has fought. He dodges his klaw, then spins away from his drop kick....The Wolf is able to move in for a fatal double strike with his Lightning Claws...he buries both right below Ghazkuls ribcage...xenos blood hisses and vaporizes as it leaves Ghazkuls body....Ghazkul Howls in rage, extremely pissed off this stunty a$$ terminator got in his way of finishing Ragnar and lets out a mighty WAAAAAAAAAAAGGHHH!!!!...

 

The Wulf cant pull his sizzling claws free. The orks muscle has turned to stone...trapped...he looks the huge ork in the face and let's out final Howl before Ghazkuls klaw clips off his Head and wrenches his claws from his body.

Arjac and the Guard tighten the Circle around Njal and Ragnar as the charged up greenskins attack with even greater speed and strength...

 

Ghazkul charges the Wolves, swatting, stomping and stabbing the tiny orks in his way....hes close now, the wolves brace for his thunderous charge...."I'm Not Finishd Wit Yoo Wulf Boy!!'....the 2 Wolf Guard with shields in front of Ghazkul about to be trampled both lean slightly away from each other...Arjac with a loud growl, using all of his strength hurls Foehammer between the 2 wolf brothers. It connects with Ghazkuls forehead, shattering his helmet and splitting his skin to the bone....As the stunned Ghazkul regains focus in his vision...the Thunderclap and White flash of Electricity shoot out knocking all his boyz on their asses...The wolves are gone....pissed off he just starts killing everything around him until he runs his blasta empty.

 

Njal back at the Fang is using all his Psychic power to keep Ragnar from awakening and moving beyond the point of no return...fully releasing his humanity to the beast within....Njal sees all the events leading up to Ragnars current state...Although one of the most brash and ferocious fighters ever to live...Ragnar only tread down this path out of necessity to carry on the Saga of his pack.

 

His soul was not lost yet but his wounds and rage would ensure that it would be if Njal did not hold it back and make the most important decision of his life...

 

Through gritted teeth Njal says 'it is time......"

 

The sound of too numerous to count mechadendrites moving along cold steel fill the room...followed by the sounds of surgical tools working the flesh of Ragnar layed out on the operating table..

 

A massive lightning storm surrounds the Fang and the Black Alpha Thunderwolf of Fenris is on its Peak staring into the eye of the storm

 

" for this Wolf to cross the Rubicon" Njal finishes

 

The Thunderwolf let's out a Howl that all the Wolves of Fenris hear and Howl in reply to.

While I love the idea of using the Rubicon to save wolves from turning wulfen (or at least delay it) if Ragnar gave in to the beast, I doubt he could be pulled back by surgery. I do hope we get an awesome story and this is some excellent food for thought.

I am definitely not the best at writing stories but I was imagining ragnar was at his last string of sanity before Njal puts him in a stasis.

 

They brought marneus back..he was already half machine...now hes rocking a new body.. then mephiston who's like the 40k bruce Banner

But Ragnar's body/second-in-command dies saving his ass. Just like when Horus beat Russ to a pulp and had to be saved by his Legion. Or when Magnus beat Russ and he had to be saved by two Giant Wolves

 

We need at least one named Astarte to die in the Rubicon process. I am surprised that Ragnar (or other named Space Wolves) hasn't fought Khârn, Ahriman, Typhus or Lucius at least once

Why do we need one named character to die in the process? I understand the arguement that Rubicon needs marines to die to add weight to the risk of the process but the named characters aren't normal marines. It makes sense for them to have a much higher success rate.

From a pure marketing standpoint I doubt GW will kill a Named Character with rules just because they failed a saving throw becoming a primaris marine. This is because named characters often are what pull people in (not always, some prefer their own brew, I know, but that opinion is not universal). Its what pulled me in to space wolves for example, I loved the characters. To kill a character that may very well have been someone's reason for joining the hobby or their first well painted model seems unwise.

 

More likely I see them killing off side wolf lords and the like, where potential for community outrage and attachment is much lower. Like they did, for example with dark angels. Which brings me to my second reason for this post, a Named astartes has died to this process. A Dark Angel's captain did not make the transition successfully. So I dont really follow the argument that says a Named character must die because those making the argument got their wish, its happened.

 

Characters like ragnar are going to have plot armor. It's the way it is both for marketing and community reasons, as well as all the investment GW has made in their characters from rules to fluff and the history they have with the game. A great example of this was the death of Eldrad which was pretty quickly retconned out. I could be proven wrong but I highly doubt a historic figure will be killed off hand, it doesn't make sense for GW to do it.

I wasnt too far off with my scenario and I like this story...he sacrificed himself and killed Ghaz...they both got upgraded....his pose is amazing and ghaz's armor and klaw is chunky and awesome
