Question on First Blood

I've read the wording of the First Blood VP objective several times, and discussed with friends I play with but I am getting confused from watching some battle reports on Youtube.

 

Can both players earn First Blood if they each kill a unit in their first turn? Or is it only the player who makes the first kill in the game? Or am I mixing up two separate rules/VP objectives?

It depends on the mission. The older missions had "First Blood" which indeed can be only scored by the one player who kills a unit first. Newer ones have "First Strike" instead which lets both players score a VP if they kill a unit during the first turn of the game.
