FAQ, Storm of Fire, and Tactical Expertise

Hi all! Haven't really seen a topic on it yet, so here we go.

 

Do the Warlord trait Storm of Fire and the Ultramarines stratagem Tactical Expertise even work anymore with the new FAQ? I can't tell if it's written to say that it does or doesn't.

Yes, both work. Nothing has changed with the new FAQ to change how either of them work.

 

The bonuses from the doctrines don't, and have never, stacked with other bonuses to AP, unless specifically stated. So if you're in the Tactical Doctrine, the Storm of Fire warlord trait would not affect rapid fire or assault weapons at all. But it would affect the other types. And then when it switches to assault, it would affect the rapid fire and assault again.

 

The Tactical Expertise stratagem specifically says that it is increasing the modification to rapid fire weapons from the tactical doctrine, so it does stack with the bonus from the doctrine. Edit: Also, the Ultramarines FAQ specifically says that this stacks with the doctrine.

Ahhh, okay. I haven't played enough of this edition! Also totally didn't realize the verbiage was in the original rules too. Thanks for clearing that up!
