Quick, dirty fists

Recommended Posts

Hi all,
After a 15 year hiatus from the hobby I started painting again in December and thought what better way to get back into it than grim, gritty yellow! I was aiming for these guys to look like they’d been in a long protracted battle in some dilapidated city somewhere. These took around 2 hours per model (minus drying times) and I think I could knock out a squad of 5 in around 5-6 hours now after learning a few things along the way. Thanks for looking and I hope you like them!

Thank you Arch, it’s relatively simple actually and as follows :

Prime black

2 thin coats of Vallejo model air German red brown.

Zenithal highlights with Vallejo model air white (general top down coat then spot highlights on focal areas)

Very thinned filter of Vallejo model air yellow.

All weathering done with oil washes of various thicknesses.
