Acebaur
Ten Cataprachti terminators all with chainfists and two heavy flamers or all with chainfists and combibolters ? I'd go with all combi bolters. Heavy flamers don't have enough range to make it worth it and Cata TDA is slow enough as it is. tychobi 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362525-which-cataphractii-loadout-is-better/#findComment-5490122 Share on other sites
Captain Idaho
My thoughts too. Cheaper and benefits from the Tactical Doctrine for 2 turns potentially. If only there was a Strategum for extending flamer range etc. If you had 8 coming out of a Land Raider Crusader then 2 Heavy Flamers would be good. 9x19 Parabellum
I agree on this. You'll also get more bang for your buck on "Fury of the First" and "Auspex Scan", for example (2 stratagems I've used multiple times recently) Dracos and BLACK BLΠFLY 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362525-which-cataphractii-loadout-is-better/#findComment-5490461 Share on other sites
thewarriorhunter
I run 5 Cataphractii models a lot and I've never used the heavy flamer. They're slow so the only way to reliably get them anywhere is deep strike and unless you're running Long Range Marksmen the flamer is wasted. After that the best way to move them anywhere is to successfully charge. At most they're moving and advancing 7" whereas they can charge for much more. I try to find an objective I want and drop them on that. They can usually clear most chaff away and sit there for the rest of the game getting points and, if in cover, being hard to remove. BLACK BLŒ FLY
I’ve been using them over a year in my Ultramarines army and wrote a tactica here you might want to read. thewarriorhunter 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362525-which-cataphractii-loadout-is-better/#findComment-5491915 Share on other sites
