Any love for the Snakes here? I've had a collection of models since Dark Imperium, including two each of the starter sets. I've converted them, mostly with different 3rd party heads (Puppetswar and Anvil mostly) with a Greek/Spartan theme mainly due to the look of the Spartan aesthetic but have been struggling to find a chapter that suits the look. I toyed with a homebrew chapter idea but couldn't develop it enough. I read Brothers of the Snake a few years ago but then it faded from memory. Then a FaceBook post popped up about painting Iron Snakes armour and that was it, a Eureka moment. Anyway, back to my original question. Any love for the Iron Snakes?

One of my favorite "nice guy" chapters! I love the Age of Heroes vibe they give off and their Chapter Master and Chief Librarian have very cool personalities.

I was toying with the idea of an Iron Snakes army as well, but I'm currently torn between them and the Minotaurs.

Both Iron Snakes and Minotaurs  have very similar visual themes yet totally different personalities..... an interesting conundrum:unsure.:

Not only that, but very different TO&E. The Snakes are very much infantry focused, operating in 100 squads of 10 that tend to deploy without much in the way of support from the bulk of the chapter. The Minotaurs, on the other hand, are known to have extensive armor assets and are extremely well equipped, preferring attrition warfare and overwhelming force. Both very cool, though I think I prefer the Minotaurs color scheme whereas the Snakes personalities edge out the "jerk" Minotaurs.

I do like the organisation of the Snakes. It allows opportunities to give each squad a little personality as there's no formal company structure. Also, with the strat of upgrading a squad to veterans you can field a notable squad. A lot of boxes are ticked for me with the Snakes; easy yet striking paint scheme, Ultramarine based but not very codex compliant, Greek/Spartan appearance...
