OMG! The Lion *is* Charlton Heston!!! (or do I have that the wrong way around?:tongue.:)

Unfortunately, the neck/head also portrays the build of Charlton Heston in the pic above, rather than a surely more physically freakish combat monster Primarch as in the cover art of The Lion fighting Curze here:

See what I mean about the lack of robustness in the head/neck? Big problem with many of the Forgeworld Primarch sculpts. Curze should be gaunt (and his sculpt is), the Phoenician more fine featured 9and his sculpt is); The Lion should be neither of those (yet his is). The pose is not very dynamic, but most of the Primarch poses are not very good in my opinion. The detail of the model, however, is pretty dang fantastic, and better than what I thought it would be. I'll just put the helmet on him, which looks good.

Right

I have all intentions to buy this model. But, knowing full well that I could not use it. Still, I will get it, even if just to put it in a pretty case, and place it on my desk to admire.

Wow!!!

this is amazing...I'd definitely magnetize the head but no doubt the Lion Sword is the only choice for me!

I always saw the Lion to be very similar in personality to Vladimir Kulich's character in the 13th warrior:

I'm just wondering about the Night Lords on his base and if the shoulder pads are sculpted on or if they are separate pieces.  Could be interesting to paint it up as though they are Fallen at his feet.

This will be my first FW model.  I'm not sure how easy it will be to magnetize, but I'm also not sure how easy it will be to convince my wife that I need 2 of them.

Only thing I've magnetized at this point was 2 of my IK, but those were easy given that they are plastic and all of the hollow spaces in them.

Let’s hope he performs as kick-ass as he looks .

He'll be the only Primarch with the Circuitous Fate rule:

Circuitous Fate

Nobody ever knows exactly how [un]formidable The Lion will ever be.

Some say it depends upon which Remembrancer is currently telling his tale.

Only the Watchers truly know.

At the beginning of each player turn, roll a d6 and consult the following table:

1. Lion of Caliban: All units with the CHAOS Faction Keyword are basically :censored: . All wounds caused to these units by The Lion are Mortal Wounds.

2. Lion of Thramas: The results of dice rolls of The Lion are reversed - successes are failures, and failures are successes.

3. ...

Okay, I don't have the will do any more. Rules could be good; rules could be meh. Probably will come down to a d6 roll. Because Dark Angels. :biggrin.:

Have seen the rumours.

Have seen the model.

And not disappointed.

Now bring on his rules.

Let’s hope he performs as kick-ass as he looks .

Cheers

I

Well if FW apply some consistency with 40k rules he should have the 4++ bubble from the Lion's Helm that Azrael currently have.

Welp I guess i may get into HH after all......

In fairness I've been holding out until DA were properly released and my word have they done it in style.

I have, languishing somewhere in a cupboard, battle of calth that i only got about 3 models into painting/maybe 10 models built so they can act as a start for it. Raiding my bits 'box' should yield a fair few extra mk4 parts to make another squad or two

Wish i'd picked up burning of prospero too now for the extra bodies/different armour.
