L30n1d4s
OK, so this is based on two assumptions that are not actually true at the moment, but hopefully will be once the FAQ is out: 1) Ulrik gets modified to have access to Litanies 2) Ulrik will get the "Master of Sanctity" treatment (i.e. Litany of Hate, plus two other Litanies; can use two Litanies a turn) If this is true, then I think the following combo with be quite potent: -Ulrik -WG Battle Leader with Wulfen Stone -10 Incursors If you keep these guys back until Turn 3, then you can use the Litany of Hate (re-roll to Hits in melee) and Exhortation of Rage (Incursors get an additional attack in melee for every unmodified 6 to Hit they roll). So, what does this give you? With Wulfen Stone nearby, the Incursors have 41 attacks on the charge. Importantly, they hit on 2+s, thanks to the Space Wolf "Chapter Tactic" and, for every unmodified 6 to Hit them make, they get two additional hits (thanks to Paired Blades and the Space Wolf special ability when Assault Doctrine is active) and an additional attack that hits on a re-rollable 2+ (thanks to Exhortation of Rage). Now, the trick here is to use the re-rolls to Hit in melee from Litany of Hate to re-roll ALL rolls that are not 6s (i.e. this use the new wording, so are not limited to just re-rolling misses, but can choose to re-roll hits as well). This gives you about a 30% chance of getting an unmodified 6 for each hit you roll (and, so producing two extra hits and an extra free roll). If you math it out, with 41 attacks base, that translates into about 12 unmodified 6s which, along with all your "normal" hits and all the bonus hits/attacks, in turn nets you around 65 hits total, on average dice. With re-rolls of 1s t Wound (thanks to the Battle Leader) and AP-1 (thanks to Assault Doctrine), your 190 point Incursor squad can reliably "one shot" a standard full wounds Predator type vehicle or Hive Tyrant type Monster in combat. If you want to amp up their damage output even more, then you can use "Honor the Chapter" to fight twice, which puts them in the realm of being able to take down a Knight or even a Primarch like Mortarian all by themselves. Dark Shepherd
Would be tonnes of fun but youre holding a lot back til turn 3 and keeping 2 strong characters out of the thick of the action turn two Karhedron 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362885-space-wolf-incursors-ulrik/#findComment-5498412 Share on other sites
TiguriusX
You can use blood claws (4 attacks base) for a similar effect without needing 6s or a turn 3 doctrine bonus or relic wulfen stone (60 attacks hitting on 2s) You can also hide 2 power weapons in the unit (PF and TH 4 attacks each base) If you do the same thing with a wulfen stone you get 75 attacks (5*15) mostly hitting on 2s. No 6s needed to reach that number. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362885-space-wolf-incursors-ulrik/#findComment-5498414 Share on other sites
