Daemon Prince Marbas
So what would everyone think about building an army of Fallen Angels using the pre heresy scheme and all the new Horus Heresy Dark Angels models? Brother Tyler
That sounds like a very logical thing to do. General Strike 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362891-rise-of-the-fallen/#findComment-5498513 Share on other sites
Tyriks
It would look really cool... probably be really boring to play, though. Fallen have very few options, I think it'd end up being very monotonous. Irate Khornate
I have to agree, visually if done right the army would be absolutely stunning. The key part however that holds it back is the fallen have very little support in terms of 40k rules. However this sounds more like a passion project, and indulge as you wish. Sonoftherubric21
So what would everyone think about building an army of Fallen Angels using the pre heresy scheme and all the new Horus Heresy Dark Angels models? On occasion Fallen congregate in large enough numbers to be an army. I think that it would be a great idea and fairly easily doable especially with the current rules for Chaos which let you pack in tons of Plasma and swords. Could even find a use for those terminators if altered approriately. Their plasma squad could be Plasma Chosen, and their lords and dreads are easily plug+play. Could be a stunning army. Which ruleset you run it under? Thats another question . My thought on initial considerations could be Red Corsairs for CP + Run/Charge. Or if you wanted a distinctly shooting force the Scourged would be good. Lots of potential. Daemon Prince Marbas
I was thinking of using the renegade chapter trait but now that you mentioned it the Red Corsairs one is better. I would use the Interemptors as Chosen, Knights Cenobium as Chaos Terminators, the Praetor as a Chaos Lord in Terminator Armor, and the dreadnoughts as their hellforged variants. Xenith
I mean. Call your warband "The Fallen" and use codex CSM as normal? Use the fw models and can rules. Might work better. Goreshed
It was also fairly common through out the fluff that just a single Fallen would turn an entire planet of people/space station/etc. To say they couldn't have certain units I feel is not doing the Fallen justice. Are there simple roving bands or just one of them? Sure, why wouldn't there be? But these guys have been hunted for ten thousand years, where they go and what they do to survive it has always been down on them and limited by nothing but their own capabilities. I think it would be pretty cool if you used the core group of units that you described and then added chaos models in it with a parody paint scheme similar to the Fallen to give the army a tie in together but not limit you on your units. ChazSexington
You could always make a Fallen Kill team - it'd be easier to make it work, I think. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362891-rise-of-the-fallen/#findComment-5513035 Share on other sites
TheRickRoberts
I have played fallen since 8th dropped. During index I played them as cypher + fallen. When the codex dropped I ran them as alpha legion. With Vigilus I have been thinking of running them as black legion. I’m thinking of converting up Abaddon as Luther and using him as a count as.
