Hi all, looking for advice/ help

My friend and I are doing a challenge, we're going half on a tactical squad box and are building 100 point lists with out half of the box. We can use any datasheet or weapon we have bits/ can convert for and will be using these against each other when we're done building/ painting the models, the only rule being no jump packs. I've built what I feel is a well rounded list and I've tried to build it with the same principals I use when building deathwatch lists. Any advice on this list would be greatly appreciated.

The list (99 points)

Sternguard Veteran - Leader: 16pts

Special issue boltgun, bolt pistol, chainsword, auspex

Sternguard Gunner - Demolitions: 19pts

Grav cannon + Grav amp, Bolt pistol

Vanguard Sargeant - Combat: 22pts

Relic blade, storm shield

Veteran Sargeant - Zealot: 23pts

Grav pistol, Thunder Hammer

Sternguard Gunner: 19pts

Grav cannon + Grav amp, Bolt pistol

I'm planning on keeping the leader and demo back to hold control points and push the zealot and combat up the board while the non specialist follows them around and lays down shots. I'm considering swapping the non specialist grav cannon for a heavy flamer as I know he's bringing along a few melee goons like I am and I want to be able to flakk out his storm shields and have good anti marine close range shooting that I can run around with and not sorry about hit penalties. Any advice/ things you would do differently? Would you do the list differently entirely? Any help would be appreciated.

Is this a deathwatch faction or Astartes faction? Did you use battlescribe to create this list?

If you want to have a heavy flamer then i would change the sternguard gunner to a veteran specialist and drop the zealot specialist. Do you have enough points to give the other vanguard marine a storm shield.

This is plain Astartes list I made in battlescribe. I don't have the points for another storm shield unfortunately. Do you think a heavy flamer be worth taking over a second grav cannon? If so I'll change up my specialists like you said.

If you are using plain Astartes then I would go with heavy flamer as it automatically hits eligble targets within 8" . You would have to remember to use the veteran tactic before first battle round to position the veteran closer to the target you want to burn.

If you like to play aggressive then go with the heavy flamer.

If you like to be defensive then stick with the grav cannon.

Ok cool, thanks for the advice!
