Wait, those are the ones in paint you posted a while back in grey? I'm way to slow!

Looking really good!

I.

Am.

Unemployed.

Happy Happy unemployed. :banana::banana:

So I use my free time as best as I can.

And I can't daydrink all the time. :whistling:

I have to build four more of those Contemptors and finish the Leviathan.

Probably never going together on the table but who knows? We mever know what next Edition makes of them.

Some great hobbying going on.

I've been plugging away at the same two questoris knight chassis for a while now. A custom house, I haven't even come up with a name. Hardly any lore for the house. It's sorta crazy, but also liberating. Maybe I need to sit down in photoshop and do a force-orbat for the house, come up with a name and that'll impact them some more. I wanted them to be ambiguous as to whether they're traitor or loyalist, or neither. So far my "house" consists of two armigers, and three of the questoris knights. I do want to grab a Castigator and a Lancer at some point.

I got a couple of Castellax done. Really enjoyed painting them and love how quickly they come together.

Also got another 5 Tech Thralls done but as they're pretty much the same as the others I have posted I haven't bothered with photos. Maybe do a shot when the whole unit is done.

Had my first game of 30k in over two years. Last played in 2023! More than likely my last game of 2nd edition, unless the rules for third really end up being bad. I aim to play 5 games of third, whenever it drops - to gauge my feelings on it.

We played 3k, Word Bearers versus Night Lords, Sudden Strike from the Beta-Garmon book, the one with the shifting objective. Lore'd it that was a cache of bio-weapons that kept shifting and both sides wanted it badly. Unforunately for me, it kept shifting deeper into my opponents lines.

Word Bearers had:
10 Ashen Circle
1 Moritat
1 Praetor
2 Mara-ghal dreadnoughts
1 Plasmagun support squad
1 5-man strong Gal-Vorbak squad
1 Land Raider Proteus (but a phobos)
2 Tactical Squads
1 Laser Vindicator Destroyer
1 Kratos

and I think that was it?

Night Lords had
1 dual LC Praetor with 6 Command Squads, all dual LC, all jump packs.
1 Deredo in the Anvilus config.
1 Kratos
1 Sicaran Punisher
1 Tactical Squad
1 10-man strong Despoiler Squad in a Rhino
1 10-man strong Plasmagun Squad
1 10-man strong Terror Squad in Rhino w/rotor cannons
1 5-man strong Melta Tac support squad in Rhino

The highlight of the game was the Word Bearers Plasma Squad (with the hellfire upgrade) firing on the Terror Squad, melting 5... but not before the Terror Squad reactionary fired back, landing 31 hits out of 40 shots, and cutting down NINE of the Plasma Squad.

Then the Kratos dueled for a bit.

Seeing as 3.0 looks sat to have some pretty hefty HQ/character taxes for list building, I’m glad to be finishing yet another Consul this week

Grand model. Really cool.

I will definitly build me more characters as well. In perticular I am goibg to make a sergeant for my tacticals with a tablet in hand to let him link like a master sergeant of the depot or whatever the legions call it.

I as well had my probably last game of 2ed yesterday:

In a display of Prussian virtues such as manliness, daring, and mental derangement, two players gathered today in the attic at a pleasant 45 degrees Celsius to devote themselves to the noblest of all hobbies. The honorable Iron Warriors faced off against the treacherous Alpha Legion in a battle to chase after a bouncing objective.

The deployment of the Iron Warriors was an impressive sight of iron and brutality, but before their exemplary leader could give the order to fire, he disintegrated into tiny shreds before the eyes of his bodyguard. A murderous team of Alpha Legion assassins had stealthily approached undetected and disintegrated him with forbidden technology. Though all visible assassins were gunned down in return fire, the damage was done, and the enemy had seized the initiative.

Behind the massive war robots of the Warsmith, the Domitars advanced to show everyone that they alone deserved the honor of protecting Perturabo’s hairy ass—only to be blown to pieces in a hail of las-blasts and a violent energy wave from the conversion beam cannon of the enemy Predator. The Iron Warriors struck back with everything they had, destroying the enemy’s tanks and shooting down every foe they could see. At the height of the battle, the Warsmith even slew the enemy general in a manly duel—but it was all in vain. The relentless barrage of missiles, sniper rounds, and bolter fire prevented them from seizing the wandering objective, and so they were defeated and forced to retreat.

Sadly it was a very one sided affair because the bouncy objective jumped into my side of the table and satyed there. 12:2 was the result.

Sounds like a fun game! Love to see it.

I've decided with the advent of more liberal Allied detachments, I might get to use some old DG I've had for ages.

Repainted these Deathshroud in black, they were once favoured but as they began to show flickerings of psychic potential they were outcast by the Death Lord. At the time, Lord Commander Eidolon was working with the 14th to hunt down the White Scars. He had no such qualms about psykers and offered them refuge - they struck their colours and swore service to him.
