@Pacific81Looks excellent. Are you brushing or airbrushing?

I just picked up one of the greens but I've got some work to do first and I'm curious to see how it goes with both.

Just brushing with them, honestly I have never used such a smooth metallic.

For infantry I used (Vallejo's recommended) black undercoat > base > shade > base + light > final light. You can use some variation of these, some compress it to just base > shade > light depending on the colour.

I haven't tried the greens yet but am thinking of using the obsidian black for Destroyers. Honestly you are in for a very pleasant surprise with these paints

Wow. I am really starting to reconsider my painting approach after seeing the results you’ve gotten with the blue. Metallic color schemes are my favorite but getting it to look good on larger kits like vehicles has been a hurdle I haven’t wanted to tackle. This might be a solution to my headache!

Sorry a bit of spam as I have been flat out getting the army ready for an escalation league (starting at 750pts).

Have finished an assault squad and medic.

The assault squad is pretty standard (it is a really good kit!). I added some 3rd party heads and special weapons from that kit. The Apothecary is 3rd party bits on a MKIII standard trooper. I'm trying to keep costs down by not buying FW resin, instead using the MKIII command squad for character bits.

posted some close ups of my EC in their thread in the hall of honour.

Got a saturnine dread to build for them which im going to find some big ol sonic cannons to arm him with.

Then i need to get my hands on that really old 5th ed metal venerable dread to turn into a contemptor.

Ok friends, I know we’ve been through this before, but just jog my memory on shoulder pad symbols: is there a recognised one for recons, seekers or (flamer) support squads?

I was doing decals all afternoon and accidentally put the heavy support inverted V on a couple of the flamer squad. Ironically the only two that went on nice and they won’t come off and that’s annoying me.  But maybe flamer squads should have that upside down V anyway? More in hope than expectation.

I always thought the inverted V was heavy support but I just had a look in Hereticus and Night Lords, World Waters and Death Guard all use it for "fire support."

Different Legions will do things differently so I always say do what you want and come up with an excuse afterwards.

The excuse can be they are world eaters and traded in their heavy weapons for flamers to get closer to the enemy! It’ll still annoy me - I wanted to save the decals for a different legion.

If anyone is after a cheaper (£80+ cheaper!) Termite miniature to use instead of the official model, found this on Etsy. Perhaps a tiny bit smaller, this is a good alternative to the Mantic Veer-myn tunneler (which is also around the £25 mark)

Etsy dwarf tunneller

Working on Gorgons still. Too cold to prime, so just assembling for now. I know Storm Bolters aren't invented 'yet', so just pretend the ones these guys are holding are finicky prototypes . As for the Hammerbearer, he's got a combi-melta kitbash.
