Been working on converting up some Mk.II legs out of the Mk.III kit and combining them with the Mk.II parts out of the vehicle kits:

Just need to add some pouches, pistol holsters and grenades to 'em!

I have been working recently on actually practising things I usually avoid or struggle with. As well as using colours that aren't just the standard Ultramarine's pallet of blue, white and red. As a result, I've ended up with an Emperor's Children Contemptor on the workbench and some eye lenses I'm quite pleased with...

Replaced terrible photo

I've been mocking up characters for my EC

I thought that Blood Angels & Dark Angels bits could make a good Emperor's (Children's) Champion (yes it will have the winged jump pack of the old Sanguinary Guard) - I'm quite happy with the champion as is.

And the Ravenwing upgrade sprue has a number of Techmarine bits so have mocked up a Techmarine with Cognis-signum (middle) and a Master of Signals (right), as that seems like a techy job.  I've got Mk. III legs in the post for the Techmarine (middle) - not sure about the extra sword - maybe a hand w/ Auspex or something?  Also I'm not sure he quite reads as a Tech marine - so any advice on how to give him a servo arm would be appreciated.  Master of Signals (right) needs more aerials I think?

Look at the cool Pauldrons from the Ravenwing upgrade sprue (left one has had the skull replaced with a different skull - from a Mk VII backpack I think).  Their opposite shoulder has one with the cog & skull completely removed as that's the one I'm putting the chapter symbol on.

@SlickSamos IIRC the devastator kit has a backpack with a folded arm for loading the missile launcher. I think the arm is a piece on its own so it should be easy to attach for the tech marine vibe, if you have it.

Making some combi weapons for my SoH from scratch. A combi flamer made nearly exactly as the Salamander's Adherents, and a combi-grenade launcher using some pieces from Necromunda.

I'm quite happy with this two models, so I made 10 of each.

And I'm getting more combi plasmas from Deathwatch veterans. With a little luck tomorrow I'll get another 10. Of course, the Inquisitorial "I" will disappear.

... and viola~

Hey there everyone. Been MIA for a few months on accounts of catchin' the old cancer, silly little ol' me. I'm fine now, treatment wrapped up and will be getting results back soon if I've beaten the darn thing. That said, I haven't hobbied much during my treatment, and my painting and creation flow is all kinds of messed up, so it will be a minute before I can post the Night Lords or Dark Angels in miniature form. Been very inspiring to come back to this thread and see some true and wonderful creativity taking place amongst you all.

Still wanting to be involved in our lovely setting here, I decided to finish up the 251st fleet orbat. I posted it when it was a WIP  to twitter a while back (back when I still used the damn thing). Some of you might also be familiar with my 42nd force orbat, which also gotten some praise from the infamous ADB. Anyway, back to the orbats. What do you think? Over the top? Nonsensical with the numbers?

@Hungry Nostraman Lizard All the best for your health mate and fingers crossed you have positive results!

Wow your fleet orbat is marvellous! Fair play to the effort and level of detail in that and same for your 21st expedition fleet too! Many many kudos!

We are talking Heresy. The Alpha Legion thinks nothing of sending three fully functional Destroyers(as in the ships full of troops and experienced sailors) on a suicide run to ram a shield generator on the ground at Paramar. Drop podding tens of thousands of troops as distractions at Terra. Or "We think that battalion commander just might not be 100% with us, he raised an eyebrow when Little Horus kicked a puppy last week. Send his entire grand battalion and equipment down to Istvaan 4 in the initial assault so we can virus bomb them later." "How about we just reassign the commander and send him with some other confirmed malcontents?" "Naw, send all 10 thousand marines of his unit, we have more." Over the top is kind of the status quo for the setting when it comes to numbers of troops and equipment.

Dont know what an Orbat is, I would call it a TO&E.

@Galron I think Orbat stands for Order of Battle?

I definitely agree with what you wrote too. GW and numbers have never been accurate and the lore is full of crazy shenanigans.

What did you use to create that @Hungry Nostraman Lizard

The Fate of Kairos Prime ended in a tie, we are now on to its Devastation!

Just went live with the Devastation of Kairos Prime part of the Dismal Gulf system!

I had a great 2 day event with over 20 participants! Now we are scheduled for the next quarterly event to be held in January!

It's been an awesome experience transitioning into an EO and building a community for Horus Heresy!

My active status here has decreased a lot lately, but I've been super busy creating content, doing interviews on podcasts, and networking with other National EOs to try and build something truly special for Heresy enthusiasts!

Most of the pictures are too large to submit through the media add files button. But man the armies looked great!

Been looking forward to seeing some plastic Mechanicum on the forum. I think yours might be the first and they look great.

I assume the shoulder pads will be black to match the Salamanders?

Not sure, might leave them green. I want to play around with shoulder pads a bit across the legion, change up paint schemes. Ideally, when I paint a new unit for an event, I want to do something new both for change of pace and to represent my army's lore of moving from a traditional "crusade" force to desperate survivors during the horus heresy for certain campaigns. For example, I have a Multi-melta heavy support squad painted black with green helmets alongside adherents to show that they were working together in another campaign after the loss of Vulkan.

Shameless plug here!

Do you have what it takes to be “Moritat Prime” during The Destruction of Kairos Prime NarrativeEvent?  In addition to our regular custom trophies, we will have this extra special bad boy.  The rules to win him are a close held secret, but it will involve committing heinous war crimes during the event.

We hope to see you all there!
