I have had a load of fun destroy some really old Chaos Marines (the first fully plastic ones) and the old plastic Khorne Berserkers to liberate as much as possible.  I have to say that the Khorne heads with their silly flaps removed look really good!

Edit:

Here are the piles of deconstructed drinking-age CSMs:

large.IMG_20250509_123055.jpg.082bf8ab15

The old Khorne Berserker bodies will be folded in with Mk. III bits to build Breachers and their weapons for the Assault Marines.  The really old CSM parts to be folded into Tactical Marines - the Bolters are so tiny though!

In contrast I've painted up three testers for my SoH, but I'm thinking I went too heavy on my post wash layer as there isn't but I've now ordered it.

That looks like a very good stsrt so keep us updated!

I like the one to the right the most, the other two give salamander/alpha legion vibes.

Just finished these five after pinning their feet to the bases:

Also a close-up of the first five of my tactical support squad with rotor cannons:

Need to trim the sabatons on the guy in the back so he more closely resembles the Master Of The Arsenal.

Those Iron Warriors look very cool. The kneepads with the studs in it is a great idea.

Thats a great colour schemes. Not plain black but with a greenish tint. I like that. Plus they looked damaged and if they have seen things

Great to see this flurry of activity here recently! I can echo the others in saying that no matter how small the progress, it's always nice to show it!

Absolutely.

Each thing we do with our models brings us one step further to completion.

Gorgeous and very menacing. That is what destroyers are or should be all about.

I do have some Death Guard I have to paint. Gonna do that in the next half year. Don't know if I already showed them but here they are:

Those Kratos (Kratii/Kratoses???) look ace @Gorgoff you've got the Death Guard bone shade nailed down. The titan game looked like a tonne of fun too. I really like the dreads with the slung bolters as well, super retro.

Thx a lot. Yeah a whim took me and I just tried to apply seraphim sepia on wraithbone contrast basecoat and it turned out to look very good on infantry and on the Kratosesesses I also painted the whole model with Streaking Grime from AK and removed it with a kitchen towel afterwards.

That made this effect. Very easy and fast.

Its a nice mix of this and that.

But apparently I am obsessed with Dreadnoughts:

Looking very nice and I am very jealous of all those dreads. I have a an old Assault on Black Reach box-nought that might need to be dug out and given a fresh lease on life.

Do it.

There is always room for one angry post box.

I thought ao as well and currently build two more Domitar Ferrum bots

The one on the right is for me to know where I have to put what.

Pretty annoying kit to build.

Highly posable, which is nice, but it comes to a price as usual.

I ran out of glue so that is my priority today. Running three of these seems like a beautiful thing to do.

Nonsensical ruleswise of course but beautiful nonetheless. ;)

Just finished off 20 Assault Marines. Combined ten of the new 40k EC infantry with ten Mk6. Their bodies look a bit different but I think as a unit they remain cohesive, and hopefully not overly chaotic.

Finished a few more marines for legion tac squad #2:

And today I went ahead and built three new characters for the warband, a Master of Signals, Delegatus, and an Esoterist (inspired by @Pearson73)

Harbingers of Taelus

@Brother Kraskor That purple looks amazing!

@Astartes Consul Fantastic looking bot, I like the rustiness on his shoulder and the gun.

Countdown to the new edition is on so I have extra motivation to wrap up as much as possible.

Managed to finish my first squad of Thousand Sons.

Feels good to get them done but there are still a lot to work through.....

Edited by Corswain

Brilliant work y'all.

Keep them coming.

Delight us with your works!

I have painted some stuff as well.

First and foremost my almost finished Proteus Speeder:

Spoiler

20250518_221036.thumb.jpg.14c59c681bc0eea9c9b9d40134c0bddc.jpg

The base edge must be cleaned and some minor details are missing still.

But I already played it.

They died by a scattering blast. ;)

I soiled three dreadnoughts in AK Streaking grime and one in Winter Grime:

And I painted a little bit my Land Raider:

Spoiler

Nice Herald @Loquille I really like the standard. I much prefer the use of emblems than flags, feels much more fitting for the setting and especially legions such as the IVth.

Those Thousand Sons look perfect @Corswain, exactly as I'd go about building them if I were to start a force. The power axe is very well painted.

Loving those consuls @Smoke Frog, and thanks for the shoutout! Glad I could inspire a build.

Thanks for the kind words @Gorgoff, your Destroyers look solid too, those Raptor packs are perfect for them. On that point I have one more Destroyer built up and waiting for paint:

 Agreed.

I started my Iron Warriors long before I'd even heard of streaking grime but if I had my time again that's exactly what I woul be doing. They look great.

Thx frater.

The neat thing is that it is so easy.

Chaos Black basecoat-> Leadbelcher spray and then I take a big as brush and just casually smear the grime all over the model and remove the excess afterwards.

That's how I like it.

Finished up some Phoenix Guard today, and rearmed an old Champion so he's now a Librarian. Extremely tempting to run him with Thamaturgy and really mess around with wound shenanigans with the Guard, but it feels a bit gamey!

Looking good, as always, Brother Kraskor. Librarian conversion is very nice.

However, I will see your heretical witch and raise you several of my own:biggrin:IMG20250525085442.thumb.jpg.df5102b1eef918442134cb6ff81db2a4.jpg

I love the 40K kit for these guys. In my head-canon they are every bit the artisans as the Emperor's Children or Blood Angels but they are ignored because they use sorcery.

Back to Mechanicum for a little after these.

@Brother Kraskor Great EC.

Those flames

@Corswain Also Great work. TS just work for me. Love their models and the red you used.

In the meantime I made more murder bots.

All my other ideas came to an halt because of 3ed coming but putting Winter Grime on those is not much work amd the effect is great so I do that. Probably never going together in one game but I am not goibg to lie:

A pile of half dead murder robots looks really cool.

I have enought parts to do another four of those printed ones, the plastic Contemptor from the AoD box, two more Iron Warriors Forgeworld ones and two more Domitsr Ferrum and now I want them all to be like this.

Although the plastic one probably will be part of my Alpha Legion.

Thanks Corswain! And I totally agree the 40k kit works really well for 30k TSons, I think the regular Rubric kit is great resource too. You've done them justice too, I bet the red and white stripes were fiddly - very neatly done.

Gorgoff that is a lot of murder bots! Love seeing Iron Circle amongst them, impressive models. What's the one at the back left (with dual kheres)?

Those look incredible.

I think it was 3ed 40k where GW had one particular artwork in the rulebook on which we saw an imorrial soldier with medieval helmet and technical gubbins on him. I loved that and always wanted to have wuch a force which brings together bith worlds.

Well done, mate.

You make teenager me very happe with your work.

That is one of the stiff Contemptors they sold in the Calth boxes back in the day.

My faceless murder bot.

The arrow marks the sole eye he watches the world through. And shots everythings which moves.

In 1ed he wrecked havoc on countless battlefields. It is a shame how they nerfed the Kherea in 3ed but maybe he sees a comeback in old glory, who knows!
