Xenith Posted April 15, 2020 Share Posted April 15, 2020 Indeed, it's the 'Pretty Marines' the counterpart to the 'Angry Marines' both joke/cliche chapters created by 4Chan. Imagine Pretty marines as the excessive extension of the Emperor's childres obsession with beauty and perfection, and the 'Angry Marines' as somewhere between the Butchers Nails, Black Rage, Minotaurs and Marines Malevolent. There's still a cult following for these, but other than their gimmicks, AM would be an assault focussed chapter while Pretty Marines would be a normal chapter. Maybe with a preference for fighting sans helmet to not mess up their hair. Except that it mirrors tone and opinions of users that frequently visit 4chan, mostly because it's entirely community made and editable by literally everyone (like Wikipedia used to be years ago), so the reasons why one wouldn't visit 4chan would also apply to 1d4chan to be fair. Close enough so the enemey can see their beauty but not so close that someone could punch them in their faces. Doghouse Posted April 15, 2020 Share Posted April 15, 2020 I think the key is probably in the traits you use and then model the regular units appropriately to suit your style. If I remember right these guys are the enemies/rivals of the Angry Marines? The Blood Angels and Raven Guard bare heads would be a good starting point, in the past I have seen some of them using elven heads. For the most part as long as you get the colour right and adorn them with hearts you should be fine.
