Hannibal Posted April 18, 2020 Share Posted April 18, 2020 Hi all, I´m in the process of painting some Knights as Allies for my Daemons of the Ruinstorm and while the GW kits are really good looking I think it´ll be rather boring to field numerous GW Knights. Therefore I´m thinking about getting a FW Knight, but which one? Which FW would you prefer and why? Its debut shooting phase took out a max unit of Gal Vorbak with Lorgar, a Chaplain and a Primus Medicae in it. It was beautiful. The Scorpion Posted April 19, 2020 Share Posted April 19, 2020 If you already have several GW knights, pick a cerastus pattern as to keep the aesthetics together. If it's a single fW knight you want, go for the Maegera, Styrix, or Atropos. That beetle carapace really makes them look more archaic. Chainweapons are one of the coolest features of 30k/40k imo, so the only knight wielding a chainfist is the obvious choice. And that giant flame cannon doesn't look bad either. STC Logisengine Posted April 20, 2020 Share Posted April 20, 2020 Depends on what you need it to do, if you need a superheavy-hunter the Atrapos have you covered, if you need to fry loads of infantry or even battleautomata then the Acheron is your go to. If you want a solid allrounder then take the Castigator, and if you crave the Glorious Charge and killing tanks, dreads and monsters turn 1 then the Lancer is your knight. That said, for pure looks the Atrapos wins on pure menace.
