Both the unit and the attached Independent Character need to have the Infiltrate USR for them to be able to infiltrate together, and infiltrate gets only passed on to a unit's dedicated transport if the unit selecting it has infiltrate by themself.

So the answer is 'no'.

EDIT:  Scouting is possible though, since the Proteus can scout via the 'Explorator Augury Web', giving you a scouting LR (which is awesome) and scouting Seekers at transport capacity eight.

In general, a character cannot ever pass Infiltrate to a unit and vice versa.

The Seekers and Rhino have to deploy normally within the bounds of the mission. The Vigilator is then deployed later during the Infiltrate sub-deployment. However the unit is al ready on the tabletop.

It's a common misconception that you can 'declare' a character as attached. However this attachment only takes place after both elements have deployed, at which point the unit has to be stuck in the DZ.

The Vigilator is such an odd Counsel. His sneakiness makes him seem like he's cut out to be with a Recon Squad but his ammunition marks him out for Seeker duty.

Not only that, but I'm not sure if he is even compulsory. I believe he doesn't have 'support officer' like the MoS.

Can the vigilator not pass his scout USR to the seeker squad?

Save some points on the augury web...

Sure, that works fine as well. Might as well take a Rhino & Vigilator combo, or the Proteus without the need for the Vigilator.

Scout gets passed on, infiltrate does not.
